After the 2024 BJG Awards were completed, breakfast sandwiches and tater tots were brought out for our enjoyment.

Before the meeting, the 2025 BJG Schedule and Rules were handed out to each member. Please keep these in your Golf Bag.

After breakfast, we began the 2025 BJG Winter Meeting.

I started the meeting by recognizing the people who keep BJG running smoothly.

Director of Scheduling – Joe T

Director of Finance – Alex

Director of Player Personnel – EJ

Next, I identified the 2024 FedUp Cup Champion, REY, and his NEW Red BJG FedUp Cup Shirt.

I also acknowledge that Joe was the 2024 Winter Classic Champion, but I had not purchased that shirt yet because I was looking at another vendor.  I also showed everyone the newest BJG Mister’s Jacket.

Next, I welcomed the New BJG Members:  Rachelle, Eric, and Mike J.  I also re-introduced Alex and his return to BJG.

Next, I went through the BJG Point system and the BJG Playoffs.

Next, I reviewed the schedule, identifying the early start date of March 30th for the Pan Am Pro Am, the back-to-back week, and the lone Saturday event, the Championship of the World.

During the meeting, it was decided that we would again have a double Closest to the Pin competition.  Please let me know if you will participate in the Close to the Pins competition so we can determine this year's cost per person.

Next, I tried to run through a few rules quickly. We did have a question about the Alternate Stroke and Distance, and I tried to explain that the numbers come out the same, but the real bottom line is that the members voted to keep the two-stroke penalty for a lost ball.

The question about the BJG Drop Zone created some conversation, and I am working out the rule to clarify it better. I will have JT help with that.

I also discussed the new rule concerning Divots.

I went through the current handicaps and how we have gone from the best 10 rounds out of 20 to the best 4 rounds out of 8.  We will see how that works.

I went through the 2025 BJG money. If everything went according to plan, we would have $107 left over at the end of the year.

I did meet with Rachelle, our first female golfer, and I decided, based on the potential of future female golfers, to have her use the red tee boxes where she has an established GHIN handicap of 22. This ruling would allow a male golfer over 65 to play from the yellow tees.  2025 will be a good test to see if this will work for the BJG competition; if not, the rule will be revised so that ALL BJG members must play from the white tee boxes.

It did feel good to complete the 2024 BJG Awards and the 2025 BJG Winter Meeting so we can start focusing on GOLF.
