As the days got closer to the Winter Classic Championship (WCC), the better the weather looked. It would be a chilly start, but then the temperature would climb to 71.
This is the first time in a long time that we have had this many golfers. We also did not have the usual frost delay, which was nice, though it seemed a little early for the Winter Classic Championship.

JT and Alex were out, and Rey had to work.
On Sunday morning, Stephen texted me at 7 am to say he would not be playing. With Dan (Guest) out sick, we were now down from 4 groups to 3.
Front Nine:
1st Place: Iron Mike: 35 (39)
2nd Place: Matt – 36 (44)
3rd Place: Rachelle – 39 (49)
3rd Place: James -39 (47)
3rd Place: Joe V – 39 (42)
3rd Place: Joe T – 39 (50)
7th Place: Magic Mike – 40 (47)
7th Place: Joe – 40 (51)
9th Place: Adam – 43 (47)
9th Place; EJ – 43 (57)
Eric - DNF
Iron Mike jumps out front after 9 with 2 Birdies, 2 Pars, and the rest Bogeys, but Matt is HOT on his trailer.
There is a big group sitting in the 3rd spot, and who would have thought that just one spot behind them would be 7th place? Adam and EJ were bringing up the rear. We still have another nine holes to play, and it will not be easy.
Eric, after becoming very frustrated with Southampton Country Club, decided that he had had enough after nine holes. This is not the first time that Southampton has claimed a casualty, and Eric will probably not be its last.
BIRDIE WATCH – Iron Mike has 2, with Matt, Rachelle, James, and Joe V each getting one.
The Par 5, 6th Hole played the easiest at just under Par. The Par 4, 9th Hole played the hardest, with just over two strokes over Par.
As a Group, we shot 39 (47).
Back Nine:
1st Place: Iron Mike – 37 (42)
1st Place: Rachelle – 37 (47)
3rd Place: Adam – 39 (44)
4th Place: James – 40 (49)
4th Place: Joe T – 40 (52)
6th Place: Joe V – 43 (47)
7th Place: Joe – 44 (55)
8th Place: Magic Mike – 45 (52)
9th Place: Matt – 47 (56)
10th Place: EJ – 52 (67)
Iron Mike continues to lead the pack, with Rachelle staying with him on the back nine. Adam plays better golf. James and Joe T remain tied, and Joe V falls off the pace. Joe and Magic Mike continue their battle on the back, and Matt falls way back. It’s a good thing EJ was driving, or he may have taken up drinking again.
Some of the pin placements were brutal, especially on the 10th and 16th holes. At least on 16, there were pine needles that stopped your ball from rolling all the way off the green… if you were lucky.
Iron Mike runs a string of Four Pars together with Rachelle, ringing in three of her own. Adam also has 4 Pars.
James is the only Golfer to have a Birdie on the back.
The Par 3, 13th Hole plays the easiest at one stroke over Par. The Par 5, 11th Hole plays the hardest at almost 3 strokes over Par.
As a group, we shot 43 (51), with a final score of 82 (98).
FINAL SCORE:
1st Place: Iron Mike – 72 (81)
2nd Place: Rachelle – 76 (96)
3rd Place: James – 79 (96)
3rd Place: Joe T – 79 (102)
5th Place: Adam – 82 (91)
5th Place: Joe V – 82 (89)
7th Place: Matt – 83 (100)
8th Place: Joe – 84 (106)
9th Place: Magic Mike – 85 (99)
10th Place: EJ – 95 (124)
The scores are close, as they have been all year, but Iron Mike played great golf to shoot Par at Southampton Country Club. Congratulations, Iron Mike.
Magic Mike wins $20 on the front, and there is no winner on the back, so that $20 goes back to the BJG bank until next year.

Adam received diapers as his birthday present, and we say "see you later" to Rachelle for at least a year as she and Adam begin their next journey.
I think it has been another successful year for Broken Joe Golf, and now it’s time to relax and take some time off.
Here at BJG HQs, we will continue to plan for our 13th year. I anticipate having some meetings to discuss Handicaps, Rules, and the 2026 schedule and courses. My guess is that these meetings will be near a golf simulator.
Stay warm, and I will talk to you all again in November.
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
Commissioner
