The day finally arrived, and it was time for the Presidents Cup: Magic Mike and the Magicians vs Adam and his Aces.

Alex (Aces) vs EJ (Magicians)

EJ jumped out to a six-stroke lead after nine holes, but that would quickly change on the back.  After getting a 12 on the 10th hole, it would be all tied up.  EJ gets another 10 on the 14th hole, and Alex is up by 4.  Alex gets his own 10 on the 16^th hole, and now EJ is up by one.  EJ loses two strokes to Alex on 17 and would finish one short, just like he did in the 2023 Presidents Cup, giving Alex the win.

Adam and the Aces are up 1 to 0 over Magic Mike and the Magicians.

Rey (Aces) vs Joe T (Magicians)

At the end of nine holes, Joe T was up 46 (with his four-stroke handicap) to Rey’s 47.  On the 10^th hole, Rey would gain a two-stroke lead and then extend it to three strokes after 12 holes.  But Joe T was not done yet, after all, he is the 2025 BJG FedUp Cup Champion.  Joe T gets one stroke back on the 13th and 14th holes.  Joe T then makes a birdie on the 15^th hole to take a one-stroke lead.  Joe T would take another stroke on 17 and 18 to give him the win with the final score of 91 to 94.

Adam & Joe (Aces) vs Joe V & James – Alternate Shot.

Adam and Joe started with five strokes, but by the 3rd hole, they gave up those strokes.  At the end of nine holes, it was all tied up.  That’s what two 8s will do to you.  The back nine did not work out much better for Adam & Joe, with another eight and two 7s.   Alternate shot competition is a game where you and your teammate must complement each other's game.  Joe V. & James had that connection.  Adam & Joe only had it sometimes.  Final score Joe V & James – 89 to Adam & Joe’s 95.

Things did not look too good for Adam and the Aces.  Iron Mike, JT, and Eric were going to have to step it up if they were going to get a tie.

Iron Mike, JT & Eric (Aces) vs Magic Mike, Matt & Stephen (Magicians)

The Scramble is another great Team event where you are always hoping the first shot is good, so you can try to do better or get a chance to see the putting line after your teammates have shown it to you.

The Magicians were getting two strokes, and at the end of 9 holes, they used those two strokes to have a two-stroke lead.  After nine more holes, both Teams would tie, giving the Magicians the win, 66 to 68, and the Presidents Cup victory.

It was a beautiful day for golf, at least in the morning; by the afternoon, the weather had become sunny and hot.  To make matters just a little worse, the bar was closed, and that cut our celebration short.

Congratulations to Magic Mike for picking a winning team and to the Magicians for “playing better golf.”

Afterwards, I was finally able to give Eric his Legends of Tomorrow trophy for his very first win.

Next on the schedule is the Winter Classic Championship, scheduled for October 19, 2025.  The golf course is TBD. Please let me know if you are playing so we can get the right number of tee times.
