Adam IS the Champion of the WORLD

I had forgotten how much I enjoy playing at Pine Knoll. It’s an inexpensive yet challenging executive golf course. No, it’s not Pinehurst—but it gets the job done. You can wear whatever you like, everyone walks, and a round only takes a couple of hours. Plus, there's beer and soda when you're finished.
When EJ and I get to Pine Knoll’s gate, Mike J and Stephen are already there. I didn’t think we would see Stephen with the threat of rain, so you know the points had to be good.
Soon we have seven out of eight golfers on the first Tee Box. Alex had texted at 8 am that he was not going to make it.
Group One is Iron Mike, Mike J & Stephen. Group Two is Adam, Joe, James, and EJ.
Front Nine:
1st Place: Adam – 27
2nd Place: Joe – 31
2nd Place: Mike J – 31
4th Place: Iron Mike – 32
5th Place: James – 34
6th Place: EJ – 38
7th Place: Stephen – 41
Adam comes out smoking by shooting PAR. That’s 7 Pars, 1 Bogey, and a Birdie.
Mike J also scores a birdie.
EJ knew he was in trouble when he got a six on the first hole. Stephen also found out the rough was as bad as Oakmont, as he had five double bogeys on the front nine.
Holes 10 - 17
1st Place: Adam – 25
2nd Place: Iron Mike – 28
2nd Place: Mike J – 28
4th Place: James – 29
5th Place: Joe – 30
6th Place: Stephen – 33
7th Place: EJ – 36
The holes are a little farther on the back nine, and Adam wasn’t taking any chances of having this win taken from him. Adam gets two more birdies, and the rest of us understand that he is not messing around.
The scores are still close except for Stephen getting his own 6 and EJ getting another 6 AND a 7.
18th Hole – Championship of the World
As the 2nd Group finishes the 18th hole, we hear that Stephen had finished the 18th Hole with a 3, so we knew that we had to make Par at least, and that starts with getting the ball on the green.
Adam, Joe, and James all hit good tee shots, but it is a blind green, so we have to wait until we walk up the hill to see what it looks like. EJ is short, and he was going to need to chip onto the green.
When we get to the green, we see that Adam is 3 feet from the pin, James is 6 feet from the pin, and Joe is 10 feet from the pin. EJ chips on.
Joe putts first, and it looks like a great putt that he is not leaving short. The ball just slides by the left side of the hole, and now he has to wait. James is next, but his putt stops just short of the hole. Now it is up to Adam.... Adam gets his FOURTH BIRDIE of the day and CRUSHES our hopes and dreams.
I guess there’s always next year.
Final Score
1st Place: Adam – 54
2nd Place: Mike – 63
3rd Place: Joe – 64
3rd Place: Mike J – 64
5th Place: James – 66
6th Place: Stephen – 77
7th Place: EJ – 78
Adam wins the Championship of the World. Adam wins the Lowest Score. Adam even wins the Closest to the Pin and the $20.

We also threw in $10 for a Blind Team Challenge. Since we only had seven golfers, EJ bowed out. Adam found a random generator app, entered our names, and popped out the teams.
ADAM & Mike J = 118
James & Iron Mike = 129
Stephen & Joe = 141
Yes, ADAM and Mike J won $30 each.
