It was a hard-fought battle, but Alex was able to travel back to his winning form from the 3-club challenge and deny Joe his three-peat.

We knew that Adam & Rachelle had gotten married and probably had way too much fun to play golf on Sunday.

I knew JT was playing in Keney Park’s Senior Club Championship.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Eric at the putting green after his clubs were stolen, but here he was with a rental set.  That is commitment.

It was a slightly overcast day with some drizzle before we started the round.  The temperature was warm but not humid.  I always like to get a morning picture of the group when they are full of hope and promise.

5th Place:  EJ – 37 (53)

11th Place:  Eric – 41 (52)

12th Place:  James – 41 (48)

13th Place:  Matt – 45 (52)

Alex comes storming out of the gate.  We have not seen Alex this fired up since the 3 Club Challenge.  Joe is on his heels looking for his three-peat.  Eric, James, and Matt have their work cut out for them.

Truth be told, Airways has an interesting layout, but it appears they are installing some drainage, and the tee boxes need some attention.

Magic Mike, Matt, James, and Joe each get a birdie on the front.

The easiest hole on the front was the Par 4, 9th Hole, which played at half a stroke over par.

The hardest hole of the front was the Par 4, 3rd Hole, which played at almost 3 strokes over par.

As a group, we shot a 37 (47).

Back Nine:

1st Place:  Magic Mike – 32 (40)

1st Place:  EJ – 32 (48)

1st Place:  Joe T – 32 (45)

1st Place:  Alex – 32 (50)

5th Place:  Rob – 33 (43)

5th Place:  Joe V – 33 (37)

7th Place:  Joe – 34 (47)

7th Place:  Stephen – 34 (46)

9th Place:  Iron Mike – 35 (40)

10th Place:  Eric – 38 (50)

10th Place:  Matt – 38 (45)

12Th Place:  Rey – 43 (53)

13th Place:  James – 43 (50)

On the back nine, the humidity starts to crank up, and with no wind, it was getting hot.

The competition really started to heat up on the back with Magic Mike, EJ, Joe T, and Alex all coming in with the lowest scores on the back.  Who would have thought that the 9th-place finisher would be the guy who shot Par?

Eric, Matt, and James have a tough day along with Rey, who has a tough back nine.

Joe V and Rob have two birdies on the back with Magic Mike and Joe T each having birdies of their own.

The easiest hole on the back was the Par 5, 11th Hole, which played at just under half a stroke over par.

The hardest hole of the back was the Par 5, 16th Hole, which played at almost 2 strokes over par.

As a group, we shot 36 (46) with a final score of two over par - 73 (93).

Final Score:

1st Place:  Alex – 64 (99)

2nd Place:  Joe – 67 (92)

3rd Place:  Magic Mike – 68 (84)

4th Place:  EJ – 69 (101)

4th Place:  Joe T – 69 (94)

4th Place:  Rob – 69 (88)

7th Place:  Joe V – 70 (77)

8th Place:  Stephen – 71 (94)

9th Place:  Iron Mike – 73 (82)

10th Place:  Eric – 79 (102)

11th Place:  Rey – 82 (102)

12Th Place:  Matt – 83 (97)

13th Place:  James – 84 (98)

It took some time to figure out the scores, and even then, the computer had to make some corrections.  It probably had something to do with heat exhaustion.  Remember, nothing is “official” until the scores are entered into the computer.

Congratulations to Alex for his second win of the season.

Joe wins the CTTP on the front, but the heat got us on the back, and we forgot to drop the CTTP equipment on the back nine. The back nine CTTP at Valhalla will be worth $40 !!!

We are scheduled to have MATCH PLAY on July 27th, 2025, but we can only proceed with an even number of golfers. Currently, we have 15 participants, with Joe T being on vacation.  Please let me know if you ARE NOT playing that week.  I will have a backup plan in case we have an odd number of players.

Respectfully,
