The Mister Tournament (usually referred to as simply the Misters is the first of Broken Joe GOLF’s four Major Golf Championships. It is generally scheduled for the first full week in April and the same Sunday as THE MASTERS final round.
The Misters started as a practice round in 2017 and became our first Major Championship in 2018.
Our tournament has one of the same traditions as THE MASTER. Since 2018, a green jacket has been awarded to the champion. Unlike THE MASTERS, the winner gets to keep their green jacket, but you can only win ONE.

Dave Carabine is the only golfer to win the Misters twice. A member of the Carabine family has won the Misters between 2018 and 2022. Rey is the current Misters Champion.
Past BJG Misters Champions are:
2018 - Mister Bryan
2019 - Mister Dave
2020 - Mister Joe
2021 - Mister Jon
2022 - Mister Dave
2023 - Mister Adam (1)
2024 – Mister Rey

The Misters was supposed to be played at St Annes Country Club in Feeding Hills, but the earliest we could get a tee time was 11:00 am.
We are now playing The Misters at Agawam Municipal Golf Course, 128 Southwick St, Feeding Hills, MA 01030, on April 13th, 2025.
The Misters are worth 554 Points, with 64 Points for First Place and 4 for Last Place. Make no mistake, this will be a MOVING day for the Leaderboard.
Closest to the Pin: Front – Hole 5, 121 Yards and Hole 15, 128 Yards. Don't forget to write the distance down on the card.
There is no “water” at this golf course, but on holes 10, 11, 12, 14, 16 & 17, a small stream is cutting across the fairways. Sometimes it is wet, and sometimes it is dry. They all should be marked with RED Stakes.
The 17th Hole has the ONLY OUT OF BOUNDS that we DON’T play, and that is for Safety. Many golfers used to try to play the 16th fairway backward to get to the 17th green, avoiding the trees at the dogleg right. Three white stakes and a white line mark this area as out of bounds. If you hit into the OOB, you can hit a Provisional Ball for a one-stroke penalty or drop in the 17th fairway for a two-stroke penalty.

The Golf Course was working on the Sprinklers, but they hope to have this cleaned up by Sunday. If not, we will have to play it as "ground under repair."

The course was wet and sloppy on Wednesday, so we will use the Lift, Clean, and Place rule on Sunday.
JT has agreed to be our new Rules Director, and Adam has agreed to be our Activities Director.
If you have a question about a Rule, bring it up with JT BEFORE or AFTER the round, NOT DURING it, unless he is in your group. Rule 16 covers how to handle any issues on the golf course. JT will make a ruling based on the facts and the BJG / PGA Rules. After that, we have Rule 21. Please try not to make JT’s job harder. Please read and understand the rules.
Adam’s new role will be to handle the Closest to the Pin and offer other games, such as optional Longest Drives and Skins.
Speaking of Closest to the Pin. If you have not paid Alex the $25, please do that this week. Once everyone is paid, Adam will take over the Closest to the Pin duties.
Weather Forecast for Sunday: Sun/Cloud Mix. Chance of Showers (24%). Low 38F & High 54F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
All Majors are grouped by the Leaderboard, except that all 2024 Champions will always lead us off the first tee box. As the 2024 Misters Champion, Rey will have that honor on Sunday.
Rob, unfortunately, had something come up, and he cannot play in the Misters.
Groups, Carts, Tee Times & Handicaps:
Group One: 8:22
Cart One – Rey (20)
Cart Two – Matt (14) & Rachelle (22 Red)
Group Two: 8:30
Cart Three – Mike J (11) & Joe (25)
Cart Four – Joe T (25) & Mike M (10)
Group Three: 8:38
Cart Five – Adam (8) & Alex (34)
Cart Six – Steve (22) & EJ (33)
Group Four – 8:46
Cart Seven – JT (15) & Eric (16)
Cart Eight – James (15) & Joe V (7)
I did take the liberty to “adjust” groups because this will be the first individual round of golf for our newest members.
Group One will take the Closest-to-the-Pin equipment out on the course, and Group Four will pick it up and return it to Adam.
Now, the only question is, how good will you look in that Green Jacket?
Respectfully
Broken Joe
Commissioner
