The 2025 BJG Championship

We have come to the final regular-season match-up and our Final Major of the year, the 2025 Broken Joe Golf (BJG) Championship.

Kenny Logan describes the end of the regular season best:

The BJG Championship will be played at Franconia Municipal Golf Course, 619 Dwight Rd, Springfield, MA 01108.  The Green Fee is $47 with a Cart and just $29 if you’re walking.

The BJG Championship is worth 952 total points, 112 points for first place, and 7 points for last place.

A lot is going on at the BJG Championship.

1. We will know the winner of our final Major, the BJG Champion.

2. We will know the winner of the Race to Big Y (Dubai) Champion (Regular Season Winner) and the recipient of the Big Check and the $50 Big Y Gift Card.

3. We will have the seeding for the first round of the Fed Up Cup, and we will know who has a first-round bye.

4. We will know who our first Golfers to miss the cut from the Fed Up Cup Playoffs and will move directly to the Legends of Tomorrow, Loses of Today Round.

5. We will identify our two President Cup Captains.

This is what we know so far: 

1.   Adam has a good lead going into the Final Major, but is it good enough?

2.    There are only 26 Points separating 2^nd place and 7^th Place.

3.    Stephen is in a precarious position, sitting in the 12th and final playoff spot.

4.    This is Eric, Matt, Rob, and Joe V’s last chance to make a final big push and to try to somehow make the Playoffs.

Handicaps:

As for all Majors, Groupings are done by the Leaderboard.  Matt, as our 2024 BJG Champion, will lead us off the first tee box.

Franconia does not have any big water holes.  There are streams on the 12th and 14^th holes, but they can be played as regular penalty areas.

The Closets to the Pins are the 107-yard, Par 3, 5th Hole, and the 124-yard, Par 3, 14th Hole.  Group One will drop the equipment, and Group Four will pick it up and return it to Adam.

Weather Forecast: Right now - Mostly sunny with a low of 58F and a high of 90F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 MPH.

Sunday will be picture day, so wear your Sunday best. I will use these pictures for the Playoffs if I don’t already have a good picture of you..  If you have a BJG Golf Shirt, this is the day to wear it.

And finally, look who invited me to a round of golf at Franconia last Sunday.  Yes, it was good to see our old BJG members, Rock, Adam (1), and Dustin.
