THE WOODS SHOOTOUT (2025)

Back in 2022, as the final day of the AT&T, Bryon Nelson Championship was being played, I thought that BJG should name one of our events with the same spirit as one of the greatest golfers of all time.

Of course, the choice was obvious…

Tiger Woods has been the most dominant player for most of our lives, much like Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, and Wayne Gretzky, just to name a few.

For most, if not all, golfers, Tiger Woods embodies who we strive to be during each round.

Some of us are like the "young" Woods, wanting to crush the competition each and every week.

Some of us are like a "troubled" Woods.

Some of us are like a "broken" Woods.

But some of us will probably just be "In The Woods"… a lot.

The "2025 Woods Shootout" will be played on May 4th, 2024, at Cold Spring Country Club, 330 Chauncey Walker St, Belchertown, MA 01007.  Riding is $65, and Walking is $47.

There are 136 Total Points available this week. 16 Points for 1st Place and 1 Point for last Place.

In the spirit of Tiger Woods, we should all wear his signature Sunday outfit—a Red Shirt with Black Shorts or Pants.

For each Golfer who wears the Red and Black, I will award one point for Camaraderie. For those who just wear a red shirt or black pants/shorts, I will award half a point.

Unfortunately, James will not be attending the Woods Shootout.

As the current Woods Shootout Champion, Iron Mike will lead us off the first tee.

There is water on the 3rd Hole, the 10th Hole, the 11th Hole, and the 18th Hole. 

Holes 10 and 11 will play as normal “penalty” areas.

Longest Drive – 18th Hole. I am offering $20 for the longest drive (White Tee Box). Must be in the Fairway.  Marked with an ORANGE FLAG.

Group One will drop off the BJG equipment, and Group Four will bring the equipment back to the clubhouse and give it to Adam. Adam will declare the winners and get their pictures.
