Joe T Goes the Distance to Win the 2026 BJG Championship

Thirty-six holes. Rain. Heat. And a golfer who apparently decided 18 holes were enough.

And when the final putt dropped, Joe T was the 2026 Broken Joe Golf Champion.

Joe T put together TWO great rounds at Airways Golf Course, shooting identical net 64s to finish at 128, seven strokes clear of the field.

That is how you win a 36-hole Championship.

Airways may only be 5,528 yards, but don't let the yardage fool you. If you f^%k around with this course, you will quickly find out that Airways bites back.

We already knew Joe V was out with his bad knee, and Dustin had a last-minute birthday party to attend Sunday afternoon. That left us with 13 golfers ready to battle for the final Major of the 2026 BJG regular season.

In the past, we've played a double round for the BJG Championship, and I remember temperatures in the 90s, high humidity, and some VERY long rounds.

This year, we appeared to catch a break. Cloudy skies. Rain in the forecast.

At least we wouldn't be hot.

Joe and Joe A came out firing with matching 33s, with Iron Mike only one stroke behind. Meanwhile, the eventual Champion wasn't exactly making headlines.

Joe T opened with a 37 and sat in 8th place. Not terrible. Not great. And certainly nothing that suggested he was about to take control of the BJG Championship.

And it rained.

Apparently, Joe T likes playing golf in the rain.

After opening with a net 37, Joe T absolutely TORCHED the back nine with a 27, turning what had been an ordinary round into one of the best rounds of the day.

EJ wasn't far behind with a 29, while Iron Mike continued his strong play with a 30.

Joe A went in the opposite direction. After tying for the lead with a 33 on the front, he stumbled to a 42 on the back.

That's Airways. Just when you think you've figured it out... It bites.

After 18 holes, we had ourselves a golf tournament.

Iron Mike, Joe and Joe T were tied for the lead at 64. EJ was sitting just one stroke back at 65. Rey was four back. Magic Mike and James were five back.

With seven golfers under par and another entire round still to play, this Championship was nowhere close to being decided.

The easiest hole of Round One was the Par-5 11th hole, which played just over par (0.2 strokes over par).

The hardest? Of course, it was the dreaded 3rd hole and its serious dogleg right. That hole played two strokes over par.

As a group, we shot a net 36 (44).

Wait... Where's Stephen?

You probably noticed that Stephen isn't listed in the Round One final scores even though he played the first 18 holes.

There's a reason for that.

Stephen quit after the first round.

Hell, he didn't even say goodbye. He went from his cart... to his car... and off he went.

The funniest part was that by then, the rain was pretty much over. A little while later, the sun even came out.

Timing is everything.

Stephen and Dustin received DNFs.

And then there were 12.

ROUND TWO

One round down. One to go. The Championship was still wide open, but now everyone had another advantage: we had just played the golf course.

We knew where the trouble was. We knew which holes we could attack. We knew where Airways could bite us.

Surely, we'd all be smarter the second time around. Right?

Joe A apparently learned a few things during Round One. After struggling to a 75 in the morning, he came out and fired a 31 to take the Round Two front-nine lead.

James followed with a 32. Joe T and Adam were right behind at 33.

But this is where Joe T's Championship really started taking shape.

Remember, he entered Round Two tied with Iron Mike and Joe at 64, with EJ only one stroke behind.

Through the first nine holes of Round Two:

Joe T shot 33. Iron Mike shot 36. Joe shot 37. EJ shot 41.

Without doing anything spectacular, Joe T had created separation.

Sometimes winning a Championship isn't about making birdies all over the golf course.

Sometimes it's simply about not making the mistakes everyone else is making.

Nine holes remained.

And Joe T finished the job.

With nine holes remaining in a 36-hole Championship, Joe T posted a 31.

Joe A and Adam matched him, but neither had been close enough after Round One to erase the damage.

Iron Mike posted a 35. Joe posted a 35.

And Joe T kept pulling away.

By this point, the weather had changed too. The rain was gone, the afternoon had gotten much warmer, and 30-plus holes of golf were beginning to take their toll.

The second trip around Airways wasn't nearly as kind to some of us. But Joe T just kept grinding.

Joe A had the best second round of the day with an impressive 62 (76). Adam also made a big move with a 64 (72).

But neither could catch Joe T.

Because while Joe A and Adam improved dramatically in Round Two, Joe T did something even more important.

He did it again. ROUND ONE: 64 (87) ROUND TWO: 64 (87)

Same net score. Same gross score. Two trips around Airways. Exactly the same result.

That's consistency. And over 36 holes, consistency wins Championships.

The easiest hole of Round Two was the Par-4 9th hole, again, which played just over par.

The hardest? The dreaded 3rd hole and its serious dogleg right AGAIN. That hole played almost two strokes over par.

As a group, we shot a net 35 (43).

Joe T wins the 2026 BJG Championship by SEVEN strokes.

There were also four scoring errors, but fortunately the computer caught all three. Apparently, after 36 holes, our ability to add numbers wasn't much better than our ability to hit greens.

The BJG Championship also marked the end of the 2026 regular season, which meant the Race to Big Y (Dubai) was officially coming to an end.

And Matt entered Airways trying to protect his lead.

MATT HANGS ON

Yes, Matt did it. Matt has won his second Race to Big Y (Dubai) in three years.

But he certainly made things interesting.

Matt finished 10th in the BJG Championship, leaving the door open just enough for someone to make a run at him.

Magic Mike had his opportunity but finished tied for 7th.

Adam made the biggest charge. His strong second round and 4th-place finish moved him into 2nd place overall, but after an entire season of golf, Adam came up just 19.5 points short.  That's how close this Race became.

Iron Mike also did exactly what he needed to do to protect his 4th-place position. Joe, EJ, and Rey all played well enough to keep things interesting, but none could make the move necessary to catch him.

So after the entire 2026 BJG regular season:

There was still one more piece of business to settle at Airways.

Who was going to the Fed Up Cup Playoffs?

Stephen's DNF changed things.

With Stephen leaving after the first round, Rob easily moved into the 11th position in the final standings.

For JT, however, the road ended at Airways.  His opportunity to make the playoffs officially ended.

And with that, the 2026 BJG regular season is over.

We started this journey months ago. Now the points have been counted. The Race to Big Y has been decided. The final Major has a Champion.

Joe T conquered the 36-hole BJG Championship. Matt conquered the 2026 regular season.

And for everyone who made the cut... the regular season no longer matters.

Because now it's time for: THE 2026 BJG FED UP CUP PLAYOFFS
