Successful First Day - BJG 2026

I think we had a very successful first day back to Broken Joe Golf as we kicked off our first events of the new 2026 season.

I knew that Rob, Joe V and Joe T could not make this year’s Award Ceremony or the Winter Meeting.

Magic Mike texted me on Thursday saying that he had to work on Sunday.

On Sunday morning, Rey let me know that he could not make to the Awards and Meeting this year.

Eric was a No Call / No Show, but EJ reached out to him after the meeting and found out he had a family emergency.  We hope everything is ok.

That left just 10 members for the Golf Simulators, Awards Ceremony and the Winter Meeting.

Next, we moved to the Rumbleseat Bar and Grill in Chicopee for a lunch of Pizza & Wings, the 2025 BJG Awards, and the 2026 Winter Meeting.

Lowest Score: Adam, Iron Mike and Joe V - 76

Lowest Handicap Score: Rachelle - 62

Highest Score: EJ - 124

The Big Kahuna Award: Adam - 7 Events with the lowest score.

The Little Kahuna Award: Alex with 3 Handicap Score wins

The Journey Award: Stephen. This award goes to a Golfer that has not won in a while. Stephen, don't stop believing.

The Rookie of the Year:  Rachelle

The Most Committed Golfer - Magic Mike:

Runners Up: Eric for using a some make shift clubs during the 2025 season. And of course, Adam, Iron Mike, James, and Rachelle for their long drives, week after week.

Most Improved Golfer(s): Alex and EJ. EJ went from a 33 Handicap to a 29 Handicap and Alex went from a 34 Handicap to a 30 Handicap.

To start the meeting, I recognized the people that help make BJG what it is today.

We WELCOMED our Newest BJG Member - Joe A

I let everyone know that Dustin has requested to play with us for the 2026 Season. Since we already have 16 golfers, Dustin has agreed to fill in when we are missing a golfer.

Lost Member - Rachelle, but she may be back for a guest appearance in the fall.

Next we talked about the BJG Points System and the Playoffs.

We talked about the 2026 BJG Schedule. There are a few back to back weeks this year. We will continue to make our first tee times around 9am.

I gave everyone a copy of the 2026 BJG Schedule, The Rules, The 2026 Starting Handicaps and the 2026 Contact Numbers.

Next we discussed what internal golf competitions we should bring to BJG this year. Some Golfers wanted to add a Longest Drive competition but I didn't know that it was well received.

This Poll will close at 9am on Saturday, March 28th, 2026.

Adam and Iron Mike are planning to offer a handicap Skins game. Stay tuned for updated details.

And finally, I went over the 2026 BJG Budget. So far, we have been saving some money verses last year.
