The Pretenders Championship (2026)

On May 17th, 2025, we will play our version of “The Players Championship,” which we call The PRETENDERS Championship.
The Pretenders Championship will be held at Gillette Ridge Golf Course, 1360 Hall Blvd, Bloomfield, CT 06002. I chose Gillette Ridge because everyone enjoyed the course and wanted a second chance.
Green fee with a cart is $85.00. They don’t make it easy to see their public rates.

The Pretenders is worth a total of 544 points. First place will receive 64 points, and last place will receive 4 points.
Updated Handicaps:
As last year's Champion, Joe, will lead us off the first tee box.
Hopefully, Joe will play better than he did at Agawam.
Dustin will be sitting this one out, but I am sure we will see him back in a couple of weeks.

The Longest Drive will be on the 7th Hole, a Par 5 at 481 yards.
The Closest To The Pin will be on the 11th hole, a Par 3 at 129 yards. This one is worth $40.
Group One will drop off the BJG equipment, and Group Four will pick it up and return it to Adam.
There is WATER on Holes 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, and 18.
Drop Zones (White Circle) will be on Holes 5, 7 & 16. Because the Penalty Areas are in front of the Green, you will need to put TWO BALLS into the Penalty Area before moving to the BJG Drop Zone. These Penalty Areas WILL be played as RED STAKES. All other waters will be played laterally, with a one-stroke penalty.
