Victory or Valhalla - Match Play 2026

This is the second year in a row that BJG has attempted Match Play. The challenge is always the same — having an even number of golfers, and hoping everyone actually shows up.

Currently, Dustin (vacation), JT (injury), and James (work) are all out, which leaves us with 12 golfers.

I wanted to play at Wyckoff Country Club — they've been putting a lot of money into making it a great course — but a late tee time forced Joe T to look elsewhere.

We'll be playing at Edgewood Golf Course, 161 Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick, MA. Walking will cost you $40, and riding will cost you $58.

This time, everyone's playing the same tees on Sunday, so here's what we're using: the updated BJG Handicap Indexes, straight up.

The Rules

You'll play all 18 holes. Yes, you can concede a putt (half a putter length). You can also concede a hole, but a conceded hole counts as double par on the scorecard.  I need scores and who won the hole.

You'll earn 2 points for each hole you win and 1 point for each hole you tie. At the end of the round, we'll tally the points, assign 1st through 12th place, and hand out BJG Points from there.

Victory or Valhalla Match Play points are worth a total of 480 points — 1st place earns 60 points, and 15^th Place still earns 4.

• Hole 1 — water, right side (lateral drop)

• Hole 2 — water, right side (lateral drop)

• Hole 4 — penalty area, front of tee box (drop zone)

• Hole 11 — water (drop zone)

• Hole 13 — water (drop zone)

• Hole 14 — water in front of green (drop zone) - 2 in Water before moving to drop zone.
