After nearly two years with Broken Joe Golf, Magic Mike finally captured the victory he has been chasing.
The scary part? He didn't just win.
He dominated.
Playing from the Blue Tees at Westover Golf Club, Magic Mike fired an incredible net 59 (77 gross), finishing seven strokes clear of the field and recording the lowest score of the 2026 BJG season. It was one of the most impressive performances we've seen in league history.
Westover Golf Club was in outstanding condition, and Mother Nature delivered another beautiful summer day. The only complaint? A 10:30 a.m. tee time, which meant we would be getting home late.
With everyone assigned to their designated tee boxes for the Clash of COLORS, it was time to find out whether the Blue, White, or Gold tees would provide the biggest advantage.
Front Nine
1st: Magic Mike (Blue) – 30 (39)
T2: Adam (Blue) – 33 (38)

T10: Rey (White) – 40 (50)
T10: Rob (White) – 40 (49)
T10: Stephen (White) – 40 (51)
Magic Mike wasted no time announcing his intentions, opening with a spectacular 6-under-par front nine. Adam and Joe A stayed within striking distance, but everyone else was already chasing.
The field remained surprisingly competitive, with only 10 strokes separating first and last place after nine holes.
Magic Mike caught fire with three consecutive birdies on Holes 3, 4, and 5, while Adam added two birdies of his own. Matt and Rob each carded a birdie as well.
The easiest hole of the front was the Par-5 9th, playing just 0.5 strokes over par. The toughest tests were the 1st and 6th holes, both Par 4s that averaged 1.3 strokes over par.
As a group, BJG posted an average score of 36 net (45 gross).
Back Nine

7th: Matt (Red) – 36 (45)
T8: Adam (Blue) – 38 (44)

T8: Joe (Red) – 38 (48)
11th: Rey (White) – 38 (49)
12th: Rob (White) – 41 (50)
Just when it looked like Magic Mike couldn't possibly improve, he somehow played even better.
His 7-under-par back nine put the tournament completely out of reach, while six other golfers finished this side of par or better.
Birdies were much harder to come by on the inward nine, with only three recorded all afternoon—by Magic Mike, Joe A, and JT.
The easiest hole was the Par-3 13th, averaging just 0.5 strokes over par, while the demanding 11th hole proved to be the toughest, playing 1.5 strokes over par.
The group averaged 35 net (49 gross) on the back, finishing the day with a combined average of 71 net (89 gross).
Final Score:

Congratulations to both players for taking home $20 each.

Looking Ahead
Overall, I thought the Clash of COLORS was a success. The designated tee boxes produced competitive scoring throughout the field, and the course handicap adjustments appeared to work exactly as intended.
Next up is one of our most anticipated events of the season: Victory or Valhalla – Match Play
We'll head to Wyckoff Country Club in Holyoke, where every hole becomes a battle, and every match is win-or-go-home in defeat. I will send out the tee times as soon as they're available.
Finally, congratulations once again to Magic Mike for earning his first BJG victory—and doing it in spectacular fashion by posting the lowest score of the 2026 season.

Respectfully,
Broken Joe
Commissioner
