*** NOTE*** The first thing we will do at East Mountain is have a Putt Off between James and Joe A for the Mister Championship. The Putt Off will start at 8:50. ****

BJG is no stranger to the 3 Club Challenge. For us, it all started back in 2015 as our fourth and final Major of the season, with my brother Chris taking home the victory in 2015, 2017, and 2019.

Chris may not have racked up many BJG trophies over the years, but give the guy just three clubs, and he could absolutely play the game.

Fast-forward to 2024 — the membership asked to bring it back, so here we are once again.

Handicap Update from The Misters:

The 3 Club Challenge plays just like any other Broken Joe Golf event: same scoring system, same points on the line — but with one big twist. You only have three clubs. That’s it. Choose wisely, leave the rest in your car or at home, and no, you can’t borrow a club from anyone else.

This year's event will again be held at East Mountain Country Club in 1458 E Mountain Rd, Westfield, MA, on Sunday, April 19th, 2025.  Green fees are $37.00 for a Walker and $53.00 for a Cart.

This event is worth a total of 136 points, with 16 points going to the winner and 1 point to the last place.

East Mountain's tee colors are a little odd.  We will play from the BLUE Tees

Alex is the current 3 Club Champion, but he is out this week, as are Joe T, Dustin, JT, Rob, Joe V, and Adam.  Please let me know if I missed anyone.

Cart Assignments were originally drawn at random from wheelofnames.com.

Cart Assignments and Tee Times

Group One: 9:15

Cart One:  Magic Mike & Iron Mike

Cart Two:  Eric & Matt

 Group Two: 9:22

Cart Three:  James & Joe A

Cart Four:  Rey & Stephen

Group Three: 9:29

Cart Five:  Joe & EJ

Cart Six:  Stone & Friend

If things don’t work out with Stone and his friend, we will need to go with groups of 3 / 3 / 4.

Sometimes there is water at the bottom of the 9th Hole Tee Box, so I have added a BJG Drop Zone just past the water and on the right side of the cart path.  It is about 95 yards to the green.

There is a pond in front of the 10th hole tee box, and the BJG Drop Zone is on the right side of the cart path between the stream and the green (72 yards to the green).

There is water running down the right side of 11.  And there is water on the left side of 18.

Weather – Cloudy, Showers / Rain. Low of 46F and a High of 58F. Winds West at 10 to 20 MPH. Chance of rain 50%.

Group One will drop off the equipment, and Group Three will return it to me.

The Closets to the Pin will be on the 3rd Hole, Par 3, 130 yards.

The Longest Drive will be on the 16th Hole, a 408-yard Par 4.   We will once again use the 20 pace left and right of center to define the “Fairway”.

Who will be the NEW King of Clubs?

Respectfully,

Broken Joe

Commissioner
