Excuse me for a second while I get on my soapbox.

I just need a few minutes to say what we all said or were thing while standing on the first tee in the driving rain.

At the end of last week we all decided that we would play golf on Sunday. One of the reasons is because Rock works on Saturday and he had not played golf with us for a couple of weeks. As the week went on, the forecast was predicting rain for the weekend. It soon became clear that the heaviest rain was coming Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
Those of us who were able, played golf on Saturday just in case we could not play on Sunday. But, in the spirit of fair play, we still showed up on Sunday morning in the rain to play golf with the 3 people who had not gotten their points for the week yet.
The simple message here was comaraderie, you know, the mutual trust and friendship among people who spend time together. Except that 2 of those people didn't show up. One person was not heard from Saturday night until Sunday afternoon. The other talked major shit and then decided that it was raining and he was going back to bed only to complain afterwards that he " was conned into thinking we were not playing..." I don't know how much clearer we could have been during the 5am texts, WE WERE GOING PLAYING GOLF IN THE RAIN AS SCHEDULED.
Like I said. 5 of us already had our weekly points but we went out as planned and that included a 62 year old man with 2 hearing aids and cancer.
It was pleasure to be on the field of play with like minded individauls who do what they say they are going to do. Even early on a Sunday morning, in the rain and in the cold. These are how memories are made and when you have an opportunity to make some, don't pull the covers up and roll over.
