So I am sitting here, as an empty nester, watching the “honey do” list get longer by the minute… when I get a call from the Competition Committee. They want to know who the weekly winners are by actual score and by handicap score. I thank them for giving me a manly task and start crunching the numbers.

To date we have played 19 weeks. First we will look at actual score, then handicap score and then I will list each weekly winner(s) by actual score and handicap score.

Actual Score:

The A Group wins 97% of the time

Dave wins 47% of the time and that’s with NOT PLAYING for the first 5 weeks. Jake has 21%, Joe has 18%, Chris has 11%. Leon is the only Group B winner and that is because the way the 3rd Major is setup.

Average score for the win is 93 (21 over par)

Handicap Scores:

Group A gets 61% of the wins compared to 39% for Group B. This a lot better than Group B’s 3% from the actual scores.

Chris – 23%

Dave – 21%

MATT – 18%

Joe – 12%

Leon – 8%

Rock -8%

Dan – 5%

JAKE – 4%

Average handicap score for the win is 64 (8 under par)

So next year we should just go with handicap scores for wins and points.
