Chris was in charge of the 3 club challenge. Each golfer got to pick any 3 clubs.

We were supposed to split between the A group and the B group but Jake was a no show (again) so we we went with old bulls and young guns.

With Jake missing the last 6 weeks, he is no longer eligible to win the Winter Classic (but he is still with us in Fantasy Football)

Franconia had a 7am shotgun start with a tournament starting at 10am. It was a little embarrassing standing around with only 3 clubs in a golf bag but…

Club selection was going to be key in this challenge. Chris chose a Driver, 8 iron and a putter, Joe chose a 5 wood, pitching wedge and a putter, Leon chose a 3 wood, 6 iron and a putter.

Things didn’t start off well on the 18th hole Chris got a 6, Joe had a 7 and Leon had an 8. After nine holes:

Leon has 2 bogeys, 2 double bogeys, a triple bogey and quadruple bogey and finishes with a 56.

Chris has 5 bogeys, 3 double bogeys and a quadruple bogey to finish with a 50.

Joe has 2 pars, 2 bogeys, 3 double bogeys and 2 triple bogeys to finish with a 49.

Chris starts the next nine with a birdie on the 9th hole and another one on the 11th hole. Chris hasn’t had a birdie in 5 years yet with only 3 clubs to choose from, he gets 2

Joe grabs a couple of more pars and Leon starts to feel the wheels fall off with a 9 on the 10th hole - par 5, a 10 on the 12 hole - par 5 and an 8 on the 14th hole - par 3. Joe wasn’t far behind on the 14th hole by shooting a 7.

After 9 more holes were done:

Leon has 5 bogeys, 1 double bogey, 1 quadruple bogey and 1 5 over par for a score of 57

Chris has 2 birdies, 1 par, 3 bogeys, 2 double bogeys and a triple bogey for a score of 45

Joe has 2 pars, 5 bogeys, a double bogey and a quadruple bogey for a score of 47

In the end Chris shots a 95, Joe has a 96 and Leon finishes with a 113.

On an unfortunate note, the young guns failed to submit a score card which means they will finish the Double Points Major with a Did Not Finish (DNF).

Anyone requesting an appeal will need to do so by noon on Wednesday. As the Commissioner, I will hear any requested appeals on Thursday evening.

Congratulations to Chris for winning his first Major. Yes, I am carrying the winner's clubs. I just glad that they only 3 clubs in each bag.

Matt will writing the post for the Young Guns (maybe he can explain how he lost the score card)
