So there I was, thinking about some changes that need to be made next year with Broken Joe Golf.

One of the major things to change is that we will only be getting points based on our handicap scores. With that said, I re-worked the scores and this is what they would have looked like.
Joe – 129 (missed no weeks)
Chris – 127 (missed no weeks)
Dave – 108 (missed 6 weeks x 5 points each week = 30 points) 108 + 30 = 138
Dan – 107 (missed 5 weeks x 5 points each week = 25) 107 + 25 = 132
Leon – 92 (missed 5 weeks x 5 points each week = 25) 92 + 25 = 117
Rock – 90 (missed 6 weeks x 5 points each week = 30) 90 + 35 = 120
Jake – 89 (missed 8 weeks x 5 points = 40) 89 + 40 = 129
Matt – 88 (missed 6 weeks x 5 points = 30) 88 + 30 = 118
All in all, the scores are pretty close. It could have looked like:
Dave – 138
Dan – 132
Joe & Jake – 129
Chris - 127
Rock – 120
Matt – 118
Leon - 117
Now, let’s say that only the top 4 golfer are guaranteed a spot in the Winter Classic.
What if we also guarantee a spot for the winners of each of Major.?
What if we only allowed 6 out of 8 golfers into the Winter Classic?
NOW the points really mean something. This is what it would look like.
Joe, Chris, Dave and Dan would be in as the top four golfers in points (3 of them also won a Major)
Leon would be in because he won a Major.
That’s leaves just one spot left with 3 golfers looking in from the outside. Rock, Jake and Matt would to have a playoff game for that final spot. That could bring in some serious drama.

The last 2 golfers could then play for last place.

Just a thought.
