The Winter Classic Golf Championship Plaque has been picked up with Mat’s name engraved on it as the “2015 Champion”. The presentation will be at my house at noon on Nov 15th.

As I looked at the plaque, I realized that this year will have its own asterisk. This will be the first time in four years that the "Carabine" name will not be on the trophy. Before the family starts whispering late at night, after the children are put to bed about how Chris failed to get the job done… about how he tarnished the family honor… I say to you, do not blame him. Yes, he was in position to win outright with outstanding scores of 9 under and 4 under. No one believed he could pull that off. For him to put together 2 amazing rounds was a feat unto its self. If you look at Chris’s scores throughout the year, it is no surprise that he shot a 104 during the playoff, he played the way he plays. No one could ask for more.

If you need to blame someone, blame me, I was the defending champion as well as the number one points leader at Broken Joe Golf. You could blame Dave, he is by far the best golfer as well as a past two time Champion. You could blame Dan, he was the runner up last year and he never really lived up to his 34 handicap (too many birthday parties). Yes, there is plenty of blame to go around but don’t blame Chris.

He will be back next year… We all will. Keep my trophy safe Matt, I’m going to want that back next year.
