T'was the night before Christmas, and all through the town
The boys were all texting "Lets play one more round".
They gathered their clubs, their tees and their balls,
And left their poor wives to decking the halls.

One by one they arrived on the cold frozen green,
Each of them dreaming of leading eighteen.
The last to arrive, poor Dan, he was tardy,
It couldn't be helped, he had a bithday party.

They paired off by twos and jumped in the carts,
Then waited for Joe to review the handicap charts.
Then Joe gave the signal; they rolled into the grass,
Except Chris and Joe, their cart had no gas.

Just when it looked like all hope was lost,
A strange looking cart slid by in the frost.
The little old duffer, he stopped and he waved,
and yelled at the two to jump in his sleigh.

With nary a thought, the two grabbed their gear,
They leapt into the sleigh and cracked open a beer.
They laughed and they joked as they slid to the tee
Just in time to see Matt land his drive in the trees.
Their new little friend, he was dress in all red,
With an odd looking cap on the top of his head.
He hopped from the sleigh and called them by name,
And then promised them each a near perfect game.

He called all their shots so lively and quick
The boys finally knew he must be St Nick.
They bogeyed and birdied and all of them parred
But then four of them realized they had no score card.

The Commissioner pounced and was ready to rule,
But Santa stepped in and said "Hey Joe, be cool."
"This game isn't won by a score on a chart,
This game is won by playing with heart".

"Today you all saw the best you could be,
And for that you each get a shiny trophy"

With that the old Elf reached into his bag
And gave each of them gifts of which they could brag.
Dave was by far, the most excited of all,
His daughter would love this much more than a doll.

Santa jumped in his sleigh and was just out of sight,
When all at once they exclaimed, "One more round before night".
Merry Christmas to all the Golfers at Broken Joe Golf.
