Broken Joe GOLF - You were 3rd and at 3 under after the first round. Were you thinking that you had a chance at the Championship?
Leon - Let's just say I was happy with my play in the first round but knowing the way things had been all season it was only time till the wheels fell off.
Broken Joe GOLF - At the end of the Winter Classic Gold Championship you finished 5th at even par. Were you happy with that finish?
Leon - I see this interview is going to end quickly, jeez. 5th place? Happy?? Not me !!
Broken Joe GOLF - In 2016, will you go from the white tees to the yellow tees?
Leon - During the winter months I thought about this and to be honest, I think as long as I am hitting my ball a little farther than Joe, at least for another season, I will stay with the whites.
Broken Joe GOLF - In 2016, if you stay with the white tees, you will be going from a 40 handicap to a 36 handicap. How do you think that will affect your game?
Leon - The only thing that effects my game is my mindset. I need to focus more on me and the ball instead of what is going on around me. Handicaps don't concern me I have had them for a long time.
Broken Joe GOLF - Just out of curiosity, what do you do over the winter months when we don’t hear from you?
Leon – Well, I try to avoid you people as much as possible ha ha ha. Just kidding. At my age (63) you just try to keep moving around and turn the heat up.
Broken Joe GOLF - What changes to your game will you have to make in order to have a chance at being competitive in 2016?
Leon - I think this season I will be more focused on my swing and taking my time to set up before swinging. My putting needs to improve. This 3-4 putt is killing me. I will say my knee has finally healed which was a real problem last year. I am just look forward to seeing everyone and giving it my best shot.
Broken Joe GOLF - If you had a chance, what rule would you like to see implemented in 2016?
Leon – I haven't really put much thought into rules.
Broken Joe GOLF - What was your favorite golf course in 2015?
Leon - I would have to say Veterans only because I played a little better late in the year there. St. Annes is my least favorite.
Broken Joe GOLF - Who do you think has the best chance to being the Winter Classic Gold Champion in 2016?
Leon - Let's just say I would like to see another name on the trophy this year besides the ones that are there. I would like to see my name on it before I end up in the old Soldiers Home and I don't mean IN MEMORANDUM
Broken Joe GOLF - Who would be 2nd in your opinion?
Leon – Who cares?
