So after weeks of knowing that there was a Major this Sunday and it being “Match” play, Dave finally decided that he can’t play on Sunday. We were told this Tuesday evening after the tee times were made 8 hours earlier.

We knew that everyone would not be able to play every week. Hell, Jake and Dan couldn’t play last week. With a long season it is just the nature of the game.

Unless you’re Teflon Dave, then there is a deal to be made. Jake said he could play on Saturday; in fact Saturday was better for him which just started the Shit Show.

In a moment of compassion (weakness) I approved Dave and Jake playing on Saturday but I did make it clear that Dave had screwed Matt and Rock because they were the only 2 people playing in that 2nd tee time on Sunday and they would probably have to play with two strangers.

Feeling bad for Matt and Rock, I texted Rock last night (Wednesday) to tell him to ask Joe to play Sunday that he would at least have 3 golfers. Low and be hold what do I hear, Rock (and Matt?) are playing Saturday with Teflon Dave and Jake. Really? Are we back to chasing tee times again? All of the sudden everyone can play on Saturday…

So in this case, Dan is the odd man out. He has a baptism on Sunday too but he is going to try and make both work.

Here are the facts:

1. Sunday is the Major (Match Play). Everyone knew it and was good with it.

2. John’s birthday is Saturday night. Again, a fact that everyone should have already known.

3. That not everyone would play every week.

4. Dave cannot play this week either because he has no clue about his schedule or there was a last minute opening at the Church for Steve’s kid’s baptism and he let Dave know Tuesday night.

5. It is not relevant, at least at this point, which day you would rather play.

Because of these facts, I have rescinded my original ruling. The Major is Sunday. Plain and Simple. Cut and Dry. You can either play or you cannot. Fair is fair. Majors, need to be played in equal conditions for all players. Same course, same day, same time, same conditions.

Yes, I will need to come up with a new plan because Jake no longer has his Match Play opponent. And that is my job as President, not Teflon Dave’s.

Anyone can object to this ruling by 5pm. If so then it will go to the committee for a vote tonight. Since the only people that do not have a part in this issue are Chris, Dan and Leon, they will make the final vote.

PS, I will cancel the 2nd tee time for Sunday on Friday morning if necessary
