This year the Rider Cup took place at Ledges Golf Course. This Major was originally scheduled for Cold Spring’s but they were having a tournament.

This year we had different partners, expect for Dave, he still had Matt. For some reason Matt choose this particular Saturday to party all night.

It was a perfect day for golf. There had been the threat of rain most of the week and this scared off most golfers but not us. In the end the rain held off for the most part and we had the golf course to ourselves.

As you may recall, Leon and I won this event last. This was because we never really put each other in bad situations. This year, Rock and I partnered and smoked the competition. This is because we actually complimented each other’s game.

I thought Chris and Leon had the best shot to win, after all Leon is the points leader and already has 2 trophies in 2016. Unfortunately for Leon, the Chris that showed up for this Major was the same Chris that was at the Grudge Match. I know Chris and Leon were waiting for Rock and I to fall apart but it never came. We had 2 bad holes but we were able to shake that off and score 2 birdies and 4 pars along with our bogeys.

As for Dave and Matt, Matt got drunk Friday night and was pretty much useless as a partner. Dave said that Matt was “historically bad”. That would about sum up Matt’s whole year. Jake and Dan had some of their own issues and finished 3rd.

On a disappointing note, as I was certifying the scores, I did note that Rock and I did not shoot a 86. It was actually a 90 so I still have not enter the sacred realm of the 80s Club.
