We had a 7:30 shot gun start at Shaker Farms in Westfield. I was running a little late (by my normal standards) and arrived around 7:05. Leon and Ray were already there but the rest of the parking lot was pretty much empty. I started to wonder if I was at the right golf course or I had somehow screwed up the tee time.

When we checked in at the pro shop the guy behind the counter assured us that we had the right “shot gun” time and that they would get us carts shortly. Leon made sure that he got his “senior” discount since his birthday was the day before.

Dan and Dave arrived and that’s when we found out that Dan forgot his golf shoes. Fortunately for Dan, Ray had an extra pair of shoes and so the shoe swapping started. I think Dan finally ended up with Dave’s golf shoes. It would have amusing to watch Dan play in his sandals…

Shaker Farms was pretty close to being a “farm”. Rarely did I have a shot that was actually on grass. On a good note, I did get my second eagle in 2 weeks.

Yes, par is 72 for 18 holes. Matt was on his way to get his money’s worth but I was starting to feel bad about his shoulder.

Dave showed us why he is the number one handicapper in Broken Joe Golf by shooting a 39. It probably didn’t hurt that Dave didn’t have to carry Matt this week.
