Like it or not, there are only about 6 weeks until the Winter Classic.
On April 13th 2016, we established the Rules for Broken Joe GOLF. One of the rules was number 14:
14. $2.00 a week is collected ($64 total) from each member for the FedEx Cup. Dan will take care of this fund.
The reason I wanted to add this “Fed Ex Cup” points system was so that people wouldn’t pad their handicaps. The thought was that you could pad your handicap score and try to win the Winter Classic but it would cost you $64 and possibly be the number 8 golfer at Broken Joe GOLF.

$2.00 a week would have been easy and you probably wouldn’t miss it very much. The last time I talked to Dan about this he said that everyone was just going to pay at the end. Well that time is almost here.

Of course it is going to be much more painful now that you have to come up with $64.00 at one time and with the knowledge that you probably aren’t going to be the number one golfer. Hell at this point you may not be the number 2 golfer. With that said you COULD very possibly be, at the very least, the number 3 golfer. That would get you $85.00 out of the deal (First = $256 & Second = $170).

Right this second, there is only 12.5 points between 3rd place and 6th place. The Winter Classic is Triple Points and, like the Fed Ex Cup, only 6 out of 8 Golfers will move on to the next week for points. The last week will only have 4 of 8 golfers competing for points to finish off the season.

Current Points & Ranking
Number 1 – Leon = 154.5
Number 2 – Joe = 146
Number 3 – Dave = 102
Number 4 – Rock = 100
Number 5 – Jake = 98.5
Number 6 – Chris = 94.5
Number 7 - Dan – 89.5
Number 8 – Matt = 44
I don’t want to have to come up with $64 at one time; I’ll pay $10 over the next 6 weeks. With any luck I can be the Winter Classic Champion, the number one golfer at Broken Joe and collect a couple dollars. I’m hoping you"re thinking the same thing.

I know Dan, the Treasurer, has a plan and he is on top of the situation.

Of course, it could also be like trying to collecting money from people for Fantasy Football in March.
