Unlike Tiger, Dave has returned after his hiatus and has played better golf. Dave shot a 39 on the front but he didn’t fare as well on the back. Dave only had two pars on the back nine to go with his 3 double bogeys and 4 bogeys and finished with an 85 (67). Dave only allows 2nd place within 17 strokes, thank goodness we have handicaps. Welcome back Big Kahuna.

Since no one was shooting 85 (67) that left the fight for 2nd place wide open. At the turn Chris had a 49, Joe had a 51 and Rock had a 55. Joe has to find 2 strokes and Rock is looking for 6.

The back nine isn’t pretty and by the time we finish the 14th hole Joe and Rock are down by 9 to Chris. Joe gets an 8 on the 11th hole, a 10 on the 12th hole and another 8 on the 14th hole. Rock starts the back with par but the makes a run of 7, 8 , 7 & 7.

I don’t know if Chris just starts to feel bad for us but he begins to stumble on the last 4 holes. By the end of the day there just isn’t enough holes for Joe or Rock to complete a comeback. Chris shoots a 102, Joe a 106 and Rock a 107.

In the battle for the "Blindest Bat"… When I talked to Dan prior to teeing off, he had a great attitude and was ready to kick ass and take names. Leon too, was ready to redeem himself after last week’s 119.

Dan gets a 9 on the par 4, 4th hole and a 7 on the par 3, 5th hole. Leon doesn’t do himself any favors and shoots an 11 on the 9th hole after sending 2 in the water. At the end of 9, Leon has a 56 to Dan’s 58. On to the back.

On the 10th hole, Dan gives Leon 2 more strokes. On the 11th hole, Leon scores an impressive 11 and give all 4 strokes back to Dan. Just like that we are all tied up…BUT wait there’s more…

On the 12th hole, Dan refuses to be outdone by Leon and shoots a 10. Leon is back up by 3.

On the 13th hole, Leon gives 2 strokes back to Dan and Leon is still up by one. They both score a 7 on the 14t hole.

On the 15th hole, Leon shoots a 9 to Dan’s 7 and now Dan is up by one.

On 16, 17 and 18 they both shoot the same score and Dan wins 118 to 119 to close out another week of golf.

Dave and Chris each move up a spot while Jake falls two spots. Only 4 weeks until the Winter Classic and one of those week’s is the John Boyle O'Reilly Club Tournament (Sept 24th).

Next week is our 6th Major of the year. It was supposed to be the "Matty Ice Invitational" but since Matt no longer plays golf (did he ever really “play” golf) I think I will change it to the “Last Chance" Invitational. This is the last chance to win a Major befor the prestigious Winter Classic Golf Championship and the Brocken Joe Championship.

In keeping with our schedule, the Major will be at Franconia. Please let me know by Tuesday morning if you can play Saturday or Sunday so that I can make the tee times for Wednesday morning.

I’ll be collecting $5.00 for the trophy on Thursday.
