We started at the 16 hole under the shot gun format. Chris, Joe, Leon and Ray play first. Jake and his buddy Mike follow.

At the turn it looks closer than it is. Jake has a 45, Chris – 50, Joe – 51 and Leon brings up the rear with a 58. Chris, Joe and Leon each brought a quadruple bogey to the party and then Leon added another 6 over par at the 6th hole. Hell, Joe got a rare birdie on the 4th hole par 3 but it still didn’t help him shoot under 50.

On the 7th hole, Chris gets a 10 and Joe gets an 8 and we still have eight more holes to play. Leon, not wanting to be left out, gets an 11 on the 8th hole par 3.

Jake grabs his own quadruple bogey on the 9th hole but then quickly recovers and plays decent golf.

On the 12th hole, Joe takes a 9 (quadruple bogie again) and Leon hangs on with an 8. Chris starts to play better golf, at least better compared to Joe and Leon.

On our way to the last hole (15th) Chris forgets his Smith System Driver Training because somehow he manages to hit Joe and Leon… twice. After some errant tee shots we find that we have a small lake guarding the uphill green. Joe ended up on the right side inside the trees. His ball is sitting pretty good and he has a good angle to go straight down the cart path and over the bridge. Joe uses his 3 hybrid in order to get the shot low but it pulls left and goes in to the water. Joe’s next shot is to just get it back out near the fairway and in front of the water. Joe’s next shot is an easy 120 yards to the green but he hits the ground deep and there goes another ball in the drink. Joe pulls out the big 7 iron and smacks it good, unfortunately it goes right, far and over the hill. After bumping it down the hill a few times to get on the green, he is rewarded with a 12. I used to like playing at Oak Ridge.

Leon has some of the same issues except that he puts in the water three times. His next shot is long and left. He is now under the hole. After Leon finishes swing the putter, he has earned himself a 14.
