Yea, yea, yea, I know it was just a practice round by it was The Misters, in honor of The Masters. Based on some of those scores I don’t know what you were practicing but whatever it was, you better stop…NOW.

It was good to have a dry run before the beginning of the season on April 22nd. We needed to meet the new players, get some handicaps, collect some money and have fun.
Some of the things I know in life:
You don’t tug on Superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask of the old Lone Range
And you don’t mess around with Jim.

Some of the things I learned at Broken Joe Golf.
You don’t let Leon drive the cart
You don’t ask Ray to help you find your ball unless you really want it.
You don’t let Rock and Eric start first on the 1st tee after a 45 minute delay
And you don’t let Brian have anything to do with the score card.

Don’t forget, it is your responsibility to get me your score cards after the round. Please make sure that someone other than you can read said scores. Scores are not confirmed until certified by the Commissioner.
I need at least one more round from the new guys in order to help with establishing your handicap. Right now this is what the handicaps look like.
Dave – 13
Jake – 21
Joe – 22
Chris – 23
Brian – 25
Dan – 26
Rock – 27
Leon – 28
Joe T – 28
Eric - 36
Matty Ice – 36
Matt T - 36
Ray - ?
Based on those handicaps, this is what the scores looked like:
Name – Handicap Score / Actual Score / Adjusted Score (for future handicap)
Joe – 72 / 94 / 94
Joe T – 73 / 101 / 99
Brian – 74 / 99 / 96
Matty Ice – 75 / 111 / 111
Dave – 76 / 89 / 86
Eric – 79 / 115 / 113
Jake – 79 / 100 / 99
Matt T – 85 / 121 / 117
Chris – 86 / 109 / 103
Leon – 88 / 116 / 110
Rock – 91 / 118 / 107
Dan – 92 / 118 / 115
Instead of points, this year we will use a “money leaderboard” to crown the 2017 Broken Joe GOLF Champion. Each event has an “Event Fee” of between $1.00 and $5.00. If the Masters were a $1.00 event then the winning money would be broken done like this:
1st Place - Joe – $1.81
2nd Place – Joe T - $1.68
3rd Place – Brian - $1.56
4th Place – Matty Ice - $1.36
5th Place – Dave – $1.23
6th Place – Eric - $1.04
6th Place – Jake - $1.04
8th Place – Matt T - $0.85
9th Place – Chris - $0.72
10th Place – Leon - $0.59
10th Place – Rock - $0.59 ***
12th Place – Dan - $0.39
*** Rock had the best back nine score based on his front 9 score which was -12 (65 – 53) which gave him an additional $0.13.

With 13 golfers, you really don’t want to come in last because in this case, you would be behind by $1.42 which is a lot of ground to make up. A couple of weeks like that and you’ll look like me in every pool I’ve join in 2017.

Money is due to me by Thursday, April 13th. It is $25.00 fee for trophies and winner shirts and whatever else we can afford. Weekly event fees range from $1.00 to $5.00 that can be paid to me weekly (in cash). I have Leon, Matt T and Joe T’s money, in fact Joe T paid up for the year ($60). Some of you could take a lesson from the new guys.
The season starts on the 22nd so get some practice and or some rounds in if you need a handicap. If you get a round or 2 in, send me your score cards.
I expect to see you “dressed for success” on the 22nd.
