Chris started Week Two off with a major BANG by shooting an 86. Chris played on Saturday morning because Ray-Ban is still finishing up his baseball season. Chris shot 8 under par and I doubted anyone was going to get close to that. I told Chris that with that score he would easily move to the second spot in Broken Joe Golf but Chris wasn’t hearing any of that, he was coming for Dave and he just made a serious statement. Maybe Chris can do what Jake could not. Either way, I hope it is more then just hype.

Big Daddy vs Teflon Dave

Teflon Dave, our “Big Kahuna”, our “Big Fish in a Little Pond”, our Number One Golfer at Broken Joe Golf, not only lost on Sunday, he lost to THREE other golfers and I am talking actual scores, not handicap scores. I cannot think of another time that this has ever happened in the last six years. To add insult to injury, Dave, after only two weeks into the season, is the first golfer to have his handicap GO UP…

If that doesn’t tell you that things have changed at Broken Joe Golf then you will truly fall by the way side. If you plan on being competitive, you better play better golf.

I know exactly how Dave feels. When I shot the 110 the first week and ended up being number nine on the money list, I was not happy, especially after being the 2015 and 2016 Broken Joe Champion and I am not going down without a fight.

When I first heard that Joe T shot an 89 and after Chris had shot an 87, I knew that there would be a change in the hierarchy at Broken Joe Golf. Chris had already cemented his position as the new number 2 golfer and Joe T was threaten to become number 3. That left either Jake or Broken Joe moving to the B group. Fortunately for me, my 91 moved my handicap to 21, Jake’s handicap stayed at 21 and Joe T’s new handicap is 21. That leaves Joe T in the B group for at least another week and nowhere forJake and I to hide.

With only two weeks into the season, Joe T maybe the new "Man on Fire". Leon must have sensed this because he hasn’t been seen since St Annes.

Week One, Joe T crushed everyone and was the only Golfer to play under par. Week Two, Chris shoots an 86 with a handicap score of 63 (-8) and Joe T doesn’t even blink. He shoots his own 89 and a handicap score of 63 (-8), doing what I thought could never be done, tie for first place. Hell, I have been playing for 6 years and I still have not been welcomed into the 80s Club.

Ray Ban is another golfer that is taking this year serious, or at least he will once baseball season is over. Ray went out and bought a new set of fitted clubs. Yes, Ray did shoot a 107 on Saturday but he was hung over from Cinco de Mayo the day before. Ray beat Chris earlier in the week at Chicopee Country Club which could be one of the driving forces behind Chris’s 86 on Saturday as a way to re-gain some respect.

Rock continues to lower his score. Week one he shot a handicap score of 76, 5 over par. This week he shot a 74, 3 over par. Rock is moving in the right direction.

And last but not least, Eric has done what Matty Ice has not been able to do since joining Broken Joe Golf and that is move his handicap from 36 to 34.

"Along with the sunshine a little rain must fall…" and rain it did for Party Man Dan and Matty Ice.

Dan had an awful day. Even when he had a decent drive, the rest of his game had the yips. I thought I was calling cadence back in the Marine Corps with all of the “Lefts” and “Rights” I was saying. Unlike his twin brother, Dan’s handicap actual went down from 26 to 25.

Matty Ice, what can I say… Matty Ice is going the wrong way. He shot a 111 at St Annes, a 122 during Week One and a 135 on Week Two. At this rate Matty Ice will reach his high score of 2016 (143) by Week Three. The silver lining for Matt is that he shot a 135 instead of the 137 that was written on the score card. Maybe it's time to think about contributing in a different way in golf in gereneral and Broken Joe Golf in particular, I am loking for a caddie (just saying...)

And that just leaves Bryan and Matt T. They are planning to play on Saturday. I will need their score cards by 8pm on Sunday, May 14th. Once I have their scores I will put together the scores, handicap scores, adjusted scores, the weekly money list and the Broken Joe Golf standings.

Practice up boys, the first Major is coming...
