Pre·tend Prəˈtend/Submit verb 1. To speak and act so as to make it appear that something is the case when in fact it is not.
2. To lay claim to (a quality or title).
Currently, Bryan is “pretending” to be the number one golfer in Broken Joe Golf. Yes, Bryan had an incredible showing at the “Misters” under terrible weather conditions, but he was quickly brought back to reality after shooting a 106 at Chicopee.
Dave is “pretending” that he is the number one handicap golfer in Broken Joe Golf but the reality is that after 2 weeks he is averaging a score of 100. Ouch.
Chris is “pretending” to be as good a golfer as Dave. While he is currently just 2 strokes behind Dave, Chris has to admit that Dave is not playing good golf which means neither is he.
Jake is “pretending” to be the number two handicap golfer in Broken Joe Golf but his average so far is a whopping 109 and he is playing from the yellows this week. Hopefully, he won’t have another 113 week.
Speaking of an average score of 109 and up pops old Joe Willie. Yes, Joe Willie is “pretending” to be a winner which he was last week in Chicopee but if you do it from the yellow tees, are you really a winner?
Joe is "pretending" he is not going to the yellows next week. After only playing one week and scoring a 106 plus add the fact that Joe hasn't touch a golf club in 2 weeks. Joe will truely be very lucky not to go to the yellows in Agawam at the end of the month.
Rock is “pretending’ that it’s 2017 and he just won the Winter Classic. He may see his dreams of winning again come true this Sunday, after all, he will be playing from the yellow tee boxes.
Dan is “pretending” to be a golfer with a chance at glory after coming in second last week but the truth is that even from the yellows, the best he could muster was a 103. To add insult to injury, he is back to playing from the white tee boxes this week.
Jon and Adam are “pretending” to be Matty Ice after shooting a 131 and 133 last week. The big difference was that Matty Ice was shooting that same score from the white tees.
Yes, there is a lot of pretending going on at Broken Joe Golf so far this year but this third round could make or break some people. If nothing else, it should be entertaining.
