The “Joe Pesci Open” was the 2nd and last regular round of golf and worth a total of 100 Fed Up Cup points.

Chris had a big 14 point lead after winning “The Pretenders” so I knew people were looking to earn some points to bring him back to the pack.

We played the “Joe Pesci Open” at Agawam which for most of us can be a hit or miss golf course. Of course, we knew the rough would be long but surprisingly it wasn’t as long as when Pesci was the Manager.

Looking at the front nine scores you could see people were taking this event seriously even through the Fed Up points were small. There were lots of pars but there were some very ugly holes.

On the very first hole Dave gets an 8. Bryan grabs a 9 and an 8 on the first two holes. Joe T shoots two 7s, two 8s and a 9 and as usual, Jon and Adam were in a dog fight. Jon had two 8s, a 10 and a 12 on his score card compared to Adams two 12s.

Front Nine:

On the back nine, Dave must have sensed how far back he was after shooting a front nine score of 50 because he plays bogey golf on the back. Bryan settles his nerves and gets 5 pars to go with a couple of double bogeys. Chris and Dan swap out 8s and 9s and Joe falls apart on the 17th hole with a 10. All three of them skid across the finish line together. Rock has 4 pars on the back but he has a pair of 9s and an 8 to go with them. Joe T plays the same as he did in the front. Adam comes out on top, kicking Jon’s ass on the back.

While Chris is looking to challenge Dave week in and week out, Chris better get an eye on Dan. Dan has been play some good golf lately and if you don’t believe me, just ask him. Of course, Dan had a little motivation after having to play from the yellows in Chicopee (even through it help him come in 2nd place that week).

Joe T is going the opposite direction, not only is he going back to the yellow tees for a second time, he is just 2 Fed Up Cup points from Jon. Poor Joe T, he used to be in the top 4 or 5 and now he’s lucky that he we only have 10 golfers.

Sunday, June 10th is the Fathers and Uncles (FU) Invitational at East Mountain. I’ll make tee time on Monday and cart assignments on Tuesday or Wednesday. This is our 2nd Major and it is worth a total of 500 POINTS. This could really shake up the Leaderboard.
