Joe is on FIRE at East Mountain Country Club

Joe wins the “Fathers and Uncles Invitational” by one stroke over Jake. Unfortunately, a lot of players did not find East Mountian County Club to be “Easy Mountain”.

Dave has a decent front with 3 pars. Jake and Chris get a couple of pars but Chris also has an 8. Joe has a par and the lone birdie on the front. Joe T has a par but also grabs an 8 (all from the green tees). Like Joe T, Adam has a par but also added a 10 and an 11 (from the green teas). Rock has a couple of 8s and Dan has three 7s and a 9.

Front Nine:

Dave – 43

Jake – 44

Bryan & Joe – 46

Chris – 47

Joe T & Rock – 51

Dan – 54

Adam – 61

Back Nine:

Jake & Joe – 46

Dave – 47

Rock – 52

Adam, Bryan and Joe T – 53

Chris – 54

Dan – 60

Jake has a par and a birdie to go with an 8 on the back.

Joe plays bogey golf and for the first time in a while, doesn’t have a blow-up hole and his putting was the best it has been all year.

Dave has two pars but they are accompanied by three 6s and a 7.

Rock was playing well on the back until he got a nine and then the double bogeys started.

Bryan has a 25 after the first 3 holes (par is 13) which included an 11 on the first par 3 but he comes back strong with a par and a birdie.

Joe T has a par but also a couple of double bogeys, a 6 on the par 3 really hurts, especially from the green tee boxes. It probably didn’t help that Joe T played in the tree line most of the day and he was always just off to one side of the hole when putting. I don’t know what was worse, that Joe T could not take advantage of hitting from the green tee boxes or the fact that he wasn’t embarrassed from hitting from the green tee boxes. Joe T has served his time at the "yellow" tee boxes and will now move back to the whites (at least for one week).

Adams plays well on the back, even with an 8 he still managed to tie Bryan and Joe T.

Chris has his own trouble on the first par 3 after putting two balls in the water. To add insult to injury he finishes the back 9 holes with three triple bogeys.

Dan triple bogeys two of the three par 3s and also has a 10 and an 8 on the par 5s. To say the wheels fell off would be an understatement. Dan claimed “mental exhaustion” after the round but it sounds more like he had been abused mentally. Whether he did it to himself or it was caused by someone else is a story for another day. I haven't seen Dan this mad since his mom stopped cutting his hair.

Dan had been playing well but he will be going back to the yellow tees for the 2nd time this season.

Final Scores (Actual Score)

Joe – 92 (92)

Jake – 93 (90)

Dave - 96 (90)

Bryan – 99 (99)

Rock – 100 (103)

Adam – 110 (116) Green Tees

Dan – 111 (114)

* Note: Chris took a penalty stroke when his ball landed on a green that he was not playing. Rule 25-3 is clear that in this case, you get a free drop.

This is the second week in a row that Jake has tied Dave in actual score.

Weekly FedUp Points:

1st – Joe – 76

2nd – Jake – 71

3rd – Dave – 66

Quoted after the round, Joe said “ It was great to win the “Fathers and Uncles Invitational”. It was also nice to get a Major win early in the 2018 season. Now that that monkey is off my back, I don't have to wonder when or if that win will ever come in 2018. This validates that I am a contender in Broken Joe Golf.” Currently, Bryan is the only other player with a Major

win (The Misters) in 2018.

There was no winner for either the "Longest Drive" or the "Closest to the Pin", It seems no one could find the fairway nor could anyone find the green at 147 yards. We will move the money to another event. The players that have paid in are: Rock, Joe, Chris, Jake, Adam, Dan and Joe T.

Leaderboard;

1st – Chris – 172

2nd – Dave – 166

3rd – Jake – 164

4th – Joe – 163

5th – Rock – 162

6th – Bryan – 142

7th – Joe T – 121

8th – Dan – 119

9th - Adam – 89

10th – Jon – 74

There were some major changes to the Leaderboard: Dave, Jake and Joe all move up one spot and Rock drops from 2nd to 5th. Bryan and Joe T move up a spot and Dan falls two spots to 8th. Adam also moves up a spot to 9th while Jon falls to last place.

The point spread is now extremely close, only 10 points separate the top five golfers. To be this close going in to the “3 Club Challenge” at Mill Valley should be very interesting. Mill Valley is hard enough but to go to there with just 3 clubs is plain foolish.

This just in: Mill Valley no longer takes tee times by phone, only on their (cough, cough) website.

From Mill Valley Facebook Page:

Book your TEE TIME ONLINE

ONLINE Tee Times bookings are now available! Simply go to millval.chelseareservations.com (https://millval.chelseareservations.com/) or through millvalleygolflinks.com (http://www.millvalleygolflinks.com) , the More option, then Online Tee Times to get the tee time you are looking for. This means we would have to try to get 3 tees on Friday morning...

We might have to change golf courses for the 3 Club Challenge...

Respectfully

Broken Joe,

Commissioner
