Rock and Adam each win 10 holes against their opponents and tie for the win at the 2018 Match Play.
Broken Joe Golf Match Play (not PGA Match Play) is a simple concept with the same rules that we have used over the last 2 years. Your mission is to dominate your opponent and ultimately win 18 holes and lose none. Of course since we are teamed up by our 2018 BJG handicaps that probably will never happen but it is your goal. Obviously some of us understood it better than others.

Final Score:
Rock – 10
Chris C - 6
Rock dominated Chris C period. There is just no other way to describe it. Rock definitely came to play today and we have not seen this Rock since early in the 2018 season. On the other hand, I guess Chris C did not truly know the power of the Rock once he gets moving. He does now.
Final Score:
Adam – 10
Jon – 7
I would have never guessed this score in a million years, I probably should have but it never occurred to me that 2 players with 36 handicaps would just trade holes all day except for one hole. With this victory Adam take one closer step to becoming the “2018 BJG Rookie of the Year.
Final Score:
Bryan – 7
Joe T – 4
Bryan came out swinging for the fences taking 5 holes to Joe T’s 1 hole on the front nine but Joe T finds some proud and battles back 3 to 2 on the back nine. Joe T is definitely not the man he was in 2017 but maybe he just has other things on his mind this year. Bryan is hoping to end the regular season the way he started it, as a winner. Interesting fact, they both finish with a 111.
Final Score:
Dave – 7
Jake – 5
This was the match up that I was really looking forward to seeing. Jake has had an up and down year but Dave is not the player he used to be. Jake was getting 3 stokes but he could not take advantage of that opportunity. By the 12th hole Dave was up 6 to 2 and maybe Dave was comfortable with that lead and thought Jake was finished. To be honest, at one point Jake thought he really was out of it but then Jake comes back to take 3 holes to Dave’s one. It was too little and too late for Jake and a lack of killer instinct for Dave.
Final Score:
Chris – 4
Joe - 4
Had this been just a regular week this would have been a great battle but since you needed to win each hole it ended up being useless as far as getting any points. Final score Joe – 100, Chris 101.
Holes Won.
1st: Rock & Adam – 10
3rd: Bryan, Dave, Jon – 7
6th: Jake – 5

Joe survives to stays at the top of the leaderboard for another week but Dave is only 4 points back. The FedUp Cup points have gotten much tighter. Jake takes the 3rd spot from Chris and Bryan takes the 6th spot from Dan. There are just 27 points separating the top five golfers. Adam is just 24 point from the 8th and final spot. I hope Dan doesn’t have a party to go to on Aug 12th.
Joe wins the 5th Hole “Longest Drive”, Dave wins the 11th hole “Closest to the Pin” and Jake wins the 13th hole “Closest to the Pin”, each collecting $17.00.
Our 4th and final Major is the “Broken Joe Golf Championship” (think PGA Championship) and it will be a double round at Franconia on Aug 12, 2018. The “Broken Joe Golf Championship” is worth 600 FedUp Cup points. This will be your last chance to make the cut to get into the FedUp Cup playoffs as one of the top eight golfers of 2018.
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
