Uncle Mikey LOVES talking about the weather, especially bad weather so it only made sense to ask Uncle Mikey to be our weather man. Uncle Mikey has volunteered and here is his forecast for today’s Broken Joe Golf Championship. Welcome to BJG’’s first weather report and welcome to BJG Uncle Mikey.

The reality of today’s weather is that the thunderstorms are coming today. I think we can realistically get in at least one round but it will be wet. The thunderstorms can come any time between 9am and 1pm but I think they will definitely be here by 2pm.

My suggestion is that if the horn blows today then we give it one hour. If we cannot get back out then we score the holes that everyone has played. For handicapping, 1 – 5 holes completed – 0 handicap, 6 – 11 holes completed – 1/3 handicap, for 12 – 17 holes completed – 2/3 handicap and if we get in all 18 then you get you full handicap.

The Deputy Commissioner wants to do “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin”. Since we are looking at 2 rounds it will cost $5.00 for each round.

First round: “Longest Drive” will be on the Par 5, 4th Hole and the “Closest to the Pin” will be on the short Par 3, 5th Hole.

2nd round: “Longest Drive” will be on the Par 5, 10th Hole and the “Closest to the Pin” will be on the Par 3, 14th Hole.
