Jake was clearly the best golfer for our 4th and final Major. Jake adds the 2018 Broken Joe Golf Championship trophy to his collection, the other being the Pine Knoll “Championship of the Word” trophy.

Dave and Jake put on a golf clinic during both rounds at Franconia. This is the reason that Dave and Jake are the number one and number two handicap Golfers in Broken Joe Golf. Dave and Jake shot in the 80s in both rounds and joined Joe into the 2018 “80s” club. For the most part, Jake had smooth sailings through both rounds while Dave had to work through some problem holes to make it to the 80s.

After the front nine, the scores were tight and it seemed everyone came to play. Dave had a miss-step on the 2nd hole where he doubled par (8). Adam and Dan had issues on the 3rd and 4th hole and they continued to play neck and neck. Rock also stumbled on the 4th hole, Par 5 where he shot a 13 but the high score for a single hole belonged to Jon with a 20 on that same hole. Jon also had trouble holes 7 and 9.

Jake continues to roll on the back 9 and Dave has been keeping pace even with an 8 on the 14th Hole, Par 3. Dave first put one in the water and then put his next shot on to the far side of the road. Dave attempted to play it but it ended up in front of the fence. With no other option, Dave finally calls the ball unplayable and drops it two club length and no closer to the hole.

Joe is unable to keep pace with Jake and Dave and fails to shoot in the 80s by one stroke. Adam, Dan and Jon have major issue on the 13th hole but Jon’s problems also included holes 12 and 17.

Once again, the scores are tight. Adam is giving Dan a serious challenge. Adam has tied Dan outright and with his handicap has beaten him.

So far there had been no rain but I didn’t really expect any until somewhere around 11am and thunderstorm around 2pm. Boy, was I wrong about the weather but thanks to Uncle Mikey's weather report, I keep looking up in the sky.

Dave doesn’t have any issues this time around and ties Jake with the front 9 with a low score of 42. Bryan and Rock have a nice front nine. Joe and Joe T fall way off their first front nine scores. Adam continues to give Dan a fight as they tie again. Jon is looking better and better after each nine holes going from 73 to 65 to 57. At this rate, Jon will be scoring a 50 on the 2nd round’s back nine.

Joe was ready for the rain, in fact he had brought everything except a boat. Unfortunately, the rain didn’t come but the heat and the humidity did and Joe was not prepared for that.

Chris was not prepared for the pain in his metal plated wrist but his pain was real.

Dan probably was not prepared for Adam's challenging his place in Broken Joe Golf.
