On the final hole, Rock is the first to finish with a par and is getting ready for the first playoff hole for the 2019 Championship of the World.

Steve, Adam, and Jon also shoot par on the 18th hole, and at this point, it looks like we are in for a dog fight.

No one in group four is even close because they also scored a 5 on the last hole. Cody plays spoiler and shoots BIRDIE to claim victory as the 2019 Champion of the World.
Front Nine
Sir Elli smokes the front 9 with 3 birdies and 3 pars.
Joe and Jake are battling, but this is Joe’s home course, so Joe has a slight advantage.
Chris, Dave, and Rey are all tied up, but Dave is playing with rental clubs so how good are Chris and Rey feeling about their game.
Adam is playing well and is in the middle of the pack.
Joe T, Rock, and Jon are having their issues, but they are still within striking distance.
Steve and Matt are struggling, but they are beating Bryan.
Bryan is feeling the rust and is really missing his 3 wood.

Front Nine Scores:
Chris C – 30
Joe – 31
Cody and Jake – 32
Chris, Dave and Rey - 33
Adam – 34
Joe T – 36
Rock – 37
Jon – 38
Steve and Matt – 40
Bryan – 43
Back Nine
Jake and Cody continue to battle it out. Jake has 2 birdies and 2 pars, while Cody a birdie and 5 pars.
Rey is holding his own, even with missing a few weeks and ties his front nine score.
Joe falls apart on the 17th and 18th hole, and he knows his chances of winning anything are over. Lucky for Joe, Rock is there to remind him.
Dave is working the crap out of his rentals and only adds one more stroke from his front nine score.
Steve comes out of nowhere and takes 6 strokes off his front nine score.
Chris continues to struggle and drops 2 more strokes on the back while Rock plays better and shaves 2 strokes off his front nine score.
Bryan, embarrassed about being beaten by Jon and Matt, plays much better on the back and takes 8 strokes off his front nine score.
Adam continues to play ok but adds 2 strokes to his front nine score.
Chris C, feeling guilty about shooting the low score on the front, adds 7 strokes to tie Joe T on the back nine. Joe T is thankful because he doesn’t want anyone to think he sucks this bad on a par 3 course.
Jon shoots the same as the front, and Matt adds 3 more stokes to his back nine. Jon is feeling good knowing Matt is playing crappy golf.
Back Nine Scores:
Cody and Jake – 31
Rey – 33
Dave, Joe, and Steve – 34
Bryan, Chris, and Rock – 35
Adam – 36
Chris C and Joe T – 37
Jon – 38
Matt 43
Final Scores:
Cody and Jake both finish with a 63, so they play the first hole as the playoff hole. Jake’s tee shot is long, and Cody lands on the green. Cody 2 putts for 3. Jake has a nice chip for his second shot but stubs his 1st putt and finishes with a 4. Cody wins the Cup for low score AND the belt for the Champion of the Word.
Cody, who was late to the party and was in last place as of week 3, is moving up the leader board fast. Dave had better watch his six.

The Championship of the World is a nice break near the middle of the BJG regular season and as we did last year, we had a chance to drink some beer and talk about what might have been.

But don't tell Uncle Mikey what happened to all of the cans....
