When Chris, who was with the 2nd group, came in with a score of 95, I was sure he had won. Then Bryan came in with Group 4 with a score of 94, and we watched as Chris’s hopes and dreams faded away. After his victory, Bryan drank the tears of his competitors.

Front Nine:

Cody and Jake continue their battle where they left off at the “Championship of the World” with Dave and Joe T joining the fight. Jake has two pars and a birdie. Dave has three pars on the front half, and Cody has three pars on the back half of the front nine. Joe T has two pars. Has anyone noticed that Joe T has been playing much better golf than he was in 2018?

Chris, Steve, and Rock manage to stay under 50 on the front nine. Bryan Chris C and Joe are at 50 or over. Adam, Dan, Nic, Jon, and Matty are all on the wrong side of 58 heading over the hill into the 60’s.

Front Nine Scores

Cody – 43 Jake – 45 Dave – 45 Joe T – 45 Chris – 48 Steve – 48 Rock – 49 Bryan – 50 Chris C – 52 Joe – 54 Adam – 58 Dan – 59 Nic – 59 Jon – 61 Matt – 61

Back Nine:

Cody has five pars but stumbles with an 8.

Bryan goes on a run with four straight pars.

Chris has two pars to go with his 8.

Jake falls off the pace but still has three pars, and he can feel Dave fading.

Rock holds the boat steady except for the 8 to go with his lone par.

Joe shaves off four strokes with two pars and 8.

Dave, Joe T, and Steve lose their magic and are now mediocre at best. Dave scored a nine on the 18th hole par 3 and learned a valuable lesson about the provisional ball. This is a lesson you only need to be taught once.

Steve continues to improve his game as we get closer to the end of the regular season.

Chris C continues to have problems closing out an 18 hole round.

Nic shaves four strokes off his first nine scores, so he is feeling better about himself.

Adam and Jon shoot the same as they did on the front nine so at least they are constant. Adam does get a par, and Jon gets two pars of his own.

Dan continues to have a bad day, and as it turns out, he was suffering from an identity crisis. You see, Dan got golf lessons from Chris on Friday, and by the 11th hole Dan didn’t know who’s golf swing he was using, but it wasn’t his. Dan does find some redemption as he chipped in for par on the 18th hole.

Matt finds himself in his usual spot in the back of the field.

Back Nine Scores.

Cody – 43 Bryan – 44 Chris – 47 Jake – 48 Rock – 50 Joe – 50 Dave – 53 Joe T – 53 Steve – 53 Chris C – 56 Nic – 56 Adam – 58 Dan – 60 Jon – 61 Matt – 63

Race to Big Y / Fed Up Cup Points

1st Place: Dave – 297 2nd Place: Jake – 285 3rd Place: Joe – 254 4th Place: Chris – 216 5th Place: Cody – 205 6th Place: Dan – 202 7th Place: Rock – 199 8th Place: Joe T – 183 9th Place: Steve – 138 10th Place: Bryan – 125 11th Place: Adam – 116 12th Place: Matt – 114 -----CUTLINE------------- 13th Place: Rey – 109 14th Place: Chris C – 96 15th Place: Jon – 89 16th Place: Nic – 72

I was as surprised as you that there wasn’t a change at the top of the leaderboard, but Dave did have a big lead. Jake really closed that gap, and he is only 12 points from the top of the mountain.

Joe is sitting comfortably in the third spot but if his golf game doesn't improve he won't make it past the first round of the Fed Up Cup.

Chris makes a big move to 4th even after missing a Major. Cody is on a tear and is now in 5th and only 11 points behind Chris.

Dan loses a couple of spots, and now Rock is only 3 points from taking 6th place from Dan. Joe T is hiding in the middle of the pack just waiting to make his move.

Steve is looking good to make the Fed Up Cup play offs in his first year, but he must remain focused.

Bryan made a big move from 15th to 10th, and he is only 13 points behind Steve. Not bad for a guy that has only played 4 out of 7 weeks.

Adam is 9 points back from Bryan and 22 points from Steve. Adam needs to play well over the last two weeks to secure his spot in the playoffs.

Matt is just above the cut line at the 12th spot, but Rey is only 5 points back from taking that spot from Matt.

Chris C, Jon, and Nic are going to need a miracle and need the people ahead of them to fall apart for them to make the cut. Right now, they will be working the course during all of the Fed Up Cup Playoffs.

Rey did not show up on Sunday (again) and has gone from 9th to 13th. Rey has now missed 4 out of 7 weeks. You have to wonder, has Rey taken up tennis or boating?

On July 28th we will be “Match Play” at Agawam Golf Course. More details to follow. Is there anyone who cannot / is not playing on the 28th?

Respectfully,

Broken Joe Commissioner
