Over the last 90 days or more, we have been working on the 2022 BJG schedule, rules, handicaps, and the 2021 BJG Awards.

Most of the Awards are simple and easy, and we now have a location for a live 2021 BJG Awards ceremony (the Hampton Inn in Enfield). I will have more info on that in an upcoming blog post.

Initially, I thought picking these "winner's" would be easy, but the more I looked at it, the harder it became. So, I need your help.

Who is our "Golfer of the Year".

There is no doubt that Jon, and Matty Ice should be considered for Golfer of the Year since they each won a Major plus one other trophy. With that said, Jon and Matty Ice did have high handicaps, but at the end of the day, they played well.

Cody had a huge handicap that he needed to overcome in 2021 and, he did just that. Cody won the Championship of the World (again), the Time Travelers, and the hurricane shortened "Race to Big Y (Dubai)". That’s not too shabby.

Joe T won the BJG Tour Championship and not by being flashy. Joe T did it week after week with hard work and dedication. Joe T finished near the bottom of the pack during the regular season, but he made it through each round of the Playoffs. Joe T then saved his best golf for the last round to win the Tour Championship. It kind of reminds me of “Rocky”.

EJ was very impressive for a Golfer who had never played golf before, and whose only goal was to "not be last". I gave EJ a 29 handicap because that was one stroke more than Jon and I had to start somewhere. EJ managed to finish 11th in the BJG regular season, and he won the 1st Round of the Playoffs. That’s not bad for a guy that has never played golf before.

Joe shoots one over par at the Championship of the World, he was within .07 points of the Race to Big Y (Dubai) only to be screwed by Hurricane Henri but most impressive is Joe’s Winter Classic Championship win. The WCC win was his third time winning that event. The only other three-time BJG winner that I know of is Chris, with his three 3 Club Challenge wins.

Of course, you may have your own idea of who the 2021 BJG Golfer of the Year should be.

I am also adding a new Award - The BJG Peoples Choice Award. The Peoples Choice Award is the golfer you most enjoyed playing golf with during the 2021 season.

So the phone lines are open for your vote for "Golfer of the Year" (and why) and the "Peoples Choice Award".

You get one vote for each, and you cannot vote for yourself. VOTING ENDS AT 5PM TODAY, and you will text your pick to me and only me.

Your vote will be wasted if you send it in the group chat.

Respectfully.
