After having a couple of weeks off from BJG / NGL events, it's time to get back to work...

When Chris and I first started playing golf, we played a lot at Pine Knoll. I was tired of getting my ass kicked each time, so I suggested that the first 17 holes were only practice. If you wanted to win, you had to win the 18th hole. That is how the "Championship of the World" started.

Past Winners (Champion & Low Score)

2018: Jake & Joe

2019 : Cody & Cody

2020: Rock & Cody

2021: Cody & Joe

We will tally the score from all 18 holes to figure out the winner by score (trophy), but if you want to be the "Champion of the World ", you are going to need to win that last hole, alone and to be the last man standing. Depending on how many people are behind us, we will re-play the 18th hole 5 times.

Let's say 5 people tie with a score of 3 on the 18th hole. Those 5 people will return to the 18th tee box and try again. We will keep this up, until we have a winner or we have tried it 5 times, after that, we will have a putt-off, and the winner will be crowned "Champion of the World”.

All Broken Joe Golf rules apply, with the additional rule being that everyone will play from the Pine Knoll tee boxes. Your ball must be in the tee box. You can put the ball on the tee or the artificial turf, you can stand outside the tee box, but the ball must be in the tee box. Since it is an Executive Golf Course, we will not be using any Broken Joe Golf handicaps.

Divisional Points for the Championship of the World

1st Place – 5

2nd Place - 3

3rd Place – 2

4th Place – 1

The lowest score will win the trophy, and receive an additional 1 point. The winner of the 18th hole will be our 2022 Champion of the World (belt), and will receive an additional 2 points.

Joe currently has the 2021 trophy for the lowest score.

Cody was our 2021 Champion of the World. Unfortunately, Cody will not be defending his championship this year. Rey and Juan will also miss this event.
