This is the fourth year the “Chubby Classic” has been on the Broken Joe Golf schedule. The “Chubby Classic” was inspired by the “Chubb Classic”, which is played on the Champions Tour.
This year, the “Chubby Classic” will be played on April 23rd, 2023, at Agawam Municipal Golf Course in Agawam, MA.

Agawam Municipal Golf Course also has a new patio.

Divisional Points are:
1st place - 5 points,
2nd place - 4 points,
3rd place - 3 points,
4th place - 2 points
5th Place - 1 point
6th place - 0.5 points.
Big Papa Cody is our 2022 Chubby Classic Champion, and as the current Champion, he will lead us off the first tee box.

Hopefully, you have used your three weeks off wisely and are ready to “Play Better Golf”.
Well, except for Joe T and Chris Joe T will be enjoying life while on a well-deserved vacation.
And Chris has to go out of town at the last minute.
Big WELCOME back to Bryan. The last time we saw Bryan was almost a month ago.

Groups & Tee Times
Group One: 8:56
Cart One: Cody & Bryan
Cart Two: Dustin
Group Two: 9:04
Cart Three: Cam and Jason
Cart Four: Adam
Group Three: 9:12
Cart Five: Joe & Alex
Cart Six: EJ
The 5th Hole will be the 1st “Closest to the Pin” and the 15th Hole will be the 2nd “Closest to the Pin”. Joe T will Venmo the winners. EJ has the Closest to the Pin equipment and will give it to Group One. Group Three will pick up all of the equipment.
Agawam doesn't have a lot of water but it does have some small streams that run across the fairway which are covered over in grass so you probably will not see any splashing. Try looking for the red stakes.
As of right now, there is a 94% chance of steady rain on Saturday night and 93% chance of steady rain on Sunday morning. The course is probably going to be wet and we may have some plugged balls. The golf course will also have some sections roped off as flooded areas or "ground under repair".
3.2 Plugged ball: A plugged ball may be picked up, cleaned, and dropped one club length but no closer to the hole without penalty.
a. In the event that the plugged ball is in a soaked, swampy area, you may drop your ball in the closest dry area but no closer to the hole. (This will also procedure for the roped off areas on the golf course)
b. A pugged ball that is lost in the fairway may be dropped on the fairway with no penalty assessed, but the group must agree that the ball:
1. Landed in the fairway
2. The landing area in the fairway was soaked and swampy
3. The ball is more than likely plugged
Of course, we do live in New England so the weather could change, but I will be bringing my rain gear.
Well, I think that just about covers it all. Good luck, and I will see everyone on Sunday.
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
Commissioner
