Winter is coming

You can begin to feel the cold in the air, which can only mean one thing: it’s time for the Winter Classic Championship.
Speaking of weather, Sunday will be Partly Sunny with a Low of 34 and a High of 57F. Winds will be SW at 5 to 10 mph. There is an 18% chance of rain. Believe me, that’s GREAT weather for the Winter Classic Championship.
The Winter Classic Championship (WCC) is our oldest event (2012) and our most prestigious for those who have not won it.
The Winter Classic Championship is also the last BJG golf event of the 2024 season, and it is the last opportunity for some of you to win and take a picture with a trophy.
It is also your last opportunity to show why you should be the 2024 BJG “Rookie of the Year” and the 2024 BJG “Golfer of the Year.”
Our past Winter Classic Champions are:
2012 – Dave C
2013 – Dave C
2014 – Joe C
2015 – Matt B
2016 – Dan C
2017 – Rock T
2018 – Joe C
2019 – Rey R
2020 – Rey R
2021 – Joe C
2022 – Joe C
2023 – EJ
Joe would be looking for his FIFTH Winter Classic Championship, except his golf game has left the building…

More realistically, Rey could be looking for his FOURTH Winter Classic Championship, especially for how well he has played this year…

Or could it be someone new? After all, we do have seven new Golfers.
This year’s Winter Classic Championship will be played at St Annes Country Club at 781 Shoemaker Ln, Feeding Hills, MA 01030.
As discussed earlier in the year, the handicaps have been adjusted to your four best rounds out of your last eight rounds.

Unfortunately, we will be missing three golfers. James is on vacation, Rob’s son has a football game, and Matt has to work.
Groups, Tee Times, and Handicaps for the 2024 Winter Classic Championship.
Group One – 8:44
Cart One: Adam (8) & Rey (20)
Cart Two: Dustin (36)
Group Three – 8:52
Cart Three: Joe V (8) & Joe (28)
Cart Four: JT (15)
Group Three – 9:00

The BJG sponsored Closest to the Pins will be on the 3rd hole, a Par 3 at 138 yards long, and on the 11th hole, a Par 3 at 130 yards long.
There is a pond on the 15th hole. Remember, once you put TWO balls in the water, you can move to the BJG Drop Zones, marked with a White Flag.
Don’t forget the clocks will fall back at 2 am on Sunday.
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
Commissioner
