After 13 months, COVID has finally knocked on BJG's door.

This also means that as much as I hoped, we will not be having a smooth week.

I was notified that one of our Golfers has tested positive for COVID. Because of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HPPA), I cannot and will not identify this member.

This member has reached out to the Golfers that he had contact with at the Pan Am scramble. This member will also not be playing in the Misters.

Those contacted golfers have either been vaccinated, recently tested negative, or have not been sick within the last 10 days. Sunday will have been 14 days since having any contact with this golfer.

About 3 hours later, I was informed that another member was in contact with someone who just tested positive for COVID. This member was not recently around any BJG Golfers. This member will also not be playing at the Misters unless he can produce a negative test result on Sunday and before our tee times.

Some of you may be concerned about COVID and playing golf within a group. I absolutely understand and I am offering you a full refund if you no longer want to participate with BJG in 2021.

As I had said before, if you are sick or have a fever please stay home. If you think you might have COVID or have been exposed to someone who might have COVID get a test and quarantine. If your test comes back positive, contact the people that you have recently been in contact with as soon as possible, and quarantine for the recommended time based on current CDC guidelines.

After saying all of that, based on my conversations and the information that I currently have, the "Misters Tournament" will be played on Sunday, April 11th since no one has had any contact with these two members for 14 days.

I am also re-issuing the COVID putting rules. Putts that are within one putter length will be picked up and one more stroke will be added to the score.

After the round, please remember to be wear your mask and maintain social distancing practices.

Please call me If you have any additional information, concerns or questions.

Respectfully,

Broken Joe
