With 39 hours before the start of the Pretenders, Rey texted me to say that they had moved his baseball games from Saturday to Sunday.  Is Rey a Baseball guy pretending to be a Golfer or a Golfer pretending to be a Baseball guy???

Next, Stephen calls out sick. We all hope Stephen is doing much better, and I think everyone agrees that the best course of action is to stay home and play another day.

We quickly moved some Golfers around, and off we went into the cool morning air.

The Front Nine:

There was some good golf on the front nine, with Joe T and Matt playing under par. Adam, Rob, James, and Mike each scored birdies. James also had chipped in for par after going into the water on the 8th hole.

On the other hand, we did have three 10s.

ree

Joe wins the "Closest to the Hole" on the front.

Front Nine Scores – Name / Hdcp Score / Actual Score

1st:  Matt – 34 (43)

1st:  Joe T – 34 (47)

3rd: Adam – 36 (40)

4th: JT – 38 (44)

11th: Joe V – 45 (47)

As a group, we shot an actual score of 48 and a handicap score of 39.

The easiest Hole was the Par 3, 9th Hole, with an average score of 3.6. The hardest Hole was the Par 5, 5th Hole, with an average score of 7.

Back Nine:

The back nine was cooler and cloudy. By the time we got around the 16th hole, it really started to get cold, like Winter Classic cold.

ree

Mike has two birdies and shaves ten strokes off his front nine score to lead all scores on the back.

Adam, James, and JT score their own birdies, with JT's coming from a chip in on the 15th hole.

ree

After Mike and Adam, EJ and James were the last golfers to shoot under par on the back nine.

On the 14th Hole, Adam drives the green. In case you were wondering, the scorecard says that's 278 yards.

We did have a bunch of 8s, but only a single 10. I wouldn't feel bad about a 10; John Daly scored an 18 on the 6th hole in 1998 at Bay Hill.

ree

Mike also wins "Closest to the Pin" on the back nine to earn some money.

We did have a rough time tallying the scorecards, but hopefully, we have a plan to hand out the trophies a little quicker.

Next on the schedule is our first Major, THE MISTERS, which will be played at Mill Valley Golf Links in Belchertown on May 5th, 2024.

Respectfully,

Broken Joe,
