Adam fought off some great competition from Cody and EJ to secure his second trophy of the year by shooting Par. This is the first time that BJG has been back to Franconia since 2021.

Chris and Bryan have to bail on the 2023 BJG Season because, unfortunately, they could not commit to the schedule. We all understand that life gets in the way sometimes ,and we wish them the best of luck in the future.

Jason and Alex did not play (DNP). Jason had his son’s birthday party, and Alex’s twins are expected to come early.

This left 7 golfers for the Woods Shootout on a beautiful, but windy day at Franconia Golf Course for a total of 66 Points.

Five out of the seven Golfers wore their Red and Black in honor of Mr. Woods.

Joe almost missed this week’s round due to an injured wrist but with 4 people gone, there were too many points up for grabs to not play.

Of course, Joe had some questions about how his wrist was going to manage a golf swing, and he was a little nervous on the front nine. He had some crazy shots go hard (90 degree) right, and it took a little while to get his swing under control.

Cody also had a previous groin injury which he reaggravated swinging for the fences on hole number 4.

Front Nine:

1st: EJ – 32 (50)

2nd: Dustin – 33 (51)

2nd: Joe T – 33 (45)

4th: Cody – 34 (39)

5th: Adam – 35 (50)

6th: Cam – 37 (44)

7th: Joe – 43 (54)

The Par 4, 2nd Hole played the hardest at 2.4 strokes over par. The Par 3, 5th Hole and the Par 4, 7th Hole played the easiest at just 0.9 strokes over par.

As a group, we played the front nine with a score of 47.6 and a handicap score of with 35 (Par).

The Back Nine:

As good as the front nine was, the back nine wasn’t so pretty with lots of 8s, 9s, 10s and even an 11.

On the 11th hole, Cody hit a wayward tee shot far and right. Joe convinced Cody to hit another off the tee because Cody had been crushing his driver all day, straight and far. Cody hits another off the tee and it goes far but still drifts right. By the time the smoke clears, Cody walked away with a rare 8, almost as rare as the Dragon's Blood Tree.

The points have tighten up, and the stage has been set for our 2nd Major.

I am still working on how the Playoffs will work so continue to play your best golf.

Our next scheduled event is the Fathers and Uncles Invitational at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course on June 4th, 2023.

We now have 9 Golfers at BJG.

Nine is an awful number because we still need 3 tee time, but are still short 3 golfer to fill the 12 spots. This will not make the golf courses happy, especially a golf course like Wintonbury Hills Golf Course. This means that we will need to recruit 3 Guest Golfers for our 2nd Major, the Fathers and Uncles Invitational.

If anyone cannot play the 2nd Major, this would bring us to 8 golfers, and the need for only 2 tee times, so if you cannot play, let me know as soon as possible.

I don't want you to worry about our numbers, because either way, we will make it work.

I hope everyone has a Safe and Happy Memorial Day weekend.
