While Cody had some major heartache with his handicap this year, it would seem that he is now settling into it, especially since we seemed to have corrected Matty Ice and Tin Man’s handicaps.
While most of us had our trouble at Veterans, Cody and Juan took care of business. Cody did it by playing par golf for the front nine, and Juan did it by taking three weeks off and telling his newborn child that he would bring home the trophy.
As it turns out, Cody broke Juan’s heart by winning the Putt Off, which sent Juan home empty-handed.

Front Nine Scores: Handicap (Actual)
1st: Cody – 43.5 (36)
2nd: Bryan – 47.5 (45)
2nd: Juan – 47.5 (51)
2nd: Matty Ice – 47.5 (54)
5th: Jake – 49 (47)
6th: Joe – 50 (50)
6th: Matt T – 50 – (53)
8th: Adam – 50.5 (56)
8th: Dustin – 50.5 (56)
8th: Rey – 50.5 (51)
11th: Joe T – 51 (51)
12Th: Dan – 51.5 (56)
13th: Rock – 53.5 (54)
14: EJ – 54.5 (69)
15th: Jon – 55 (63)
16th: Dave – 59 (56)
17th: Chris – 60.5 (61)
One of the first things you notice is how deep the rough was, and it seemed to give people some trouble. Even Agawam’s rough was never that thick and deep.

The other issue was the new sand. The new sand is going to take some getting used to it.
There were some scores of 10s, 11s, and a 12. Hell, we even had a big old 14. The 3rd Hole, Par 5s gave most of us trouble, and it showed with an average score of 8.2. The only one that did not have problems with that hole was Cody, and of course, he had a par on that hole.
I also saw Matty Ice’s score for the front and thought he going to give me the Big Middle Finger again….

Chris had a busted-up wrist and shoulder but, he still showed up to get his points, and to be honest I thought he was doing pretty good for being a one-arm bandit...

Back Nine Scores: Handicap (Actual)
1st: Adam – 47.5 (53)
1st: Juan – 47.5 (51)
3rd: Dave – 50 (47)
4th: Bryan – 50.5 (48)
4th: Dustin – 50.5
6th: Joe – 51 (51)
7th: Cody – 51.5 (44)
8th: Rey – 53.5 (54)
9th: Jake – 54 (52)
10th: Matt T – 55 (58)
11th: Joe T – 56 (56)
11th: Jon – 56 (64)
13th: Rock – 58.5 (59)
14th: Dan – 59.5 (64)
15th: Matty Ice – 67.5 (74)
16th: Chris – 81.5 (82)
17th: EJ – 82.5 (97)
The back nine was a lot tougher, even for Cody. We still had 10s, 11s, and 12s, just more of them. We even had a 15 and a couple of 19s.
The 12th Hole, Par 5 gave most of us serious problems with an average score of 8.5, that is except for Cody and Bryan. Cody and Bryan shot par on the 12th hole. Cody would have his own troubles on the 18th hole, par 3, and Bryan just had his blow-up hole on the 11th hole.
Chris and EJ really took an ass whooping on the back, but at least Chris had an excuse… Matty Ice and Tin Man's actual scores looked like they traveled back in time to 2018.

Final Scores: Handicap (Actual)
1st Place: Cody – 95 (80)
2nd Place: Juan – 95 (102)
3rd Place: Adam – 98 (109)
3rd Place: Bryan – 98 (93)
5th Place: Dustin – 101 (112)
5th Place: Joe – 101 (101)
7th Place: Jake – 103 (99)
8th Place: Rey – 104 (105)
9th Place: Matt T – 105 (111)
10th Place: Joe T – 107 (107)
11th Place: Dave – 109 (103)
12th Place: Jon – 111 (127)
12th Place: Dan -111 (120)
14th Place: Rock – 112 (113)
15th Place: Matty Ice – 115 (128)
16th Place: EJ – 137 (166)
17th Place: Chris – 142 (143)
For the most part, I think the scores were pretty close. We had ties for 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 12th.
Time Traveler Championship Points:
1st Place: Cody – 21
2nd Place: Juan – 20
3rd Place: Adam – 18.5

5th Place: Joe – 16.5
7th Place: Jake – 14
8th Place: Rey – 13
9th Place: Matt T – 12
10th Place: Joe T – 11
11th Place: Dave – 10
12th Place: Jon – 8.5

16th Place: EJ – 5
17th Place: Chris – 4
18th Place: Nic, Tim & Harry - DNP
Race to Big Y (Dubai)
Jon – 302.5
Matty Ice – 297.5
Joe – 271.8
Cody – 247.5
Adam – 243.3
Bryan – 236.3
Dave – 235
Rock – 223.5
Chris – 212
Rey – 208
Joe T – 185
EJ – 167
*** Cut Line ***
Juan – 160
Jake – 155
Nic – 138
Tim – 107.5
Dustin – 102.5
Matt T – 43
Harry – 18
Jon has extended his lead over Matty Ice by 5.
Joe has gained 8 points and is now only 30.7 points from 1st Place with three rounds to play, and 2 of those are Majors. Joe is probably going to have to win one of them to jump to the front.
Cody is 55 points from first but, Cody really does have the potential to win the last 2 Majors. Of course, Cody would also need everyone above him to NOT play better golf. Plus, only 12.5 points are separating 4th place through 7th Place (Cody, Adam, Bryan, and Dave).
At the Cut Line, EJ is holding on for dear life with Juan only 7 points back and Jake is only 12 points back.
It will be interesting if a first time golfer actually made it to the first round Fed Up Cup.
15th and lower will probably have to start practicing for a chance at the "Legend of Tomorrow (Loser of Today)" 9th Place Trophy.
Bryan won the Closest to the Pin" and Dan won the "Longest Drive".
Adam won last week’s Trivia Contest and a $20 Dunkin Donuts Gift Card. Dustin was first to answer, but he was a little confused about which sequel some of the movies were. Dustin did come back later to correct his mistakes, but he only answered ten pictures, missing the cover picture of “Mystery Theatre 3000”. Congratulations to Adam.

The next event is our 3rd Major, The American Freedom Open. This 3rd Major will be played at Veterans Golf Course on July 25th.

The John Boyle O'Reilly is once again having their annual 4 man scramble on September 25th (I think) which is an off week for BJG. Dan will have more information.

Respectfully,
