Harry wins the 2nd round of the Fed Up Cup by two strokes over Cody. Harry is starting to make a case for “Rookie of the Year” (maybe).
In 2020, Harry’s two iron has become legendary and has earned the nickname “Superman." But don’t get confused, I’ve watched Cody play some ugly golf and he can still hit some amazing shots. Cody didn’t shoot a 74 by accident.
Front Nine:
I think everyone except Cody had at least one bad hole on the front but no one had a blowup hole quite like Adam and Joe at the 3rd Hole. You know the par 3 with the water in front of it. Joe actually made it to the other side of the water on his 2nd (4th shot) but refused to take the drop on the other side because “now it was personal”.

By the time the damage was done Adam had a 13 and Joe had a 14. At this point, Nic got Joe thinking about brick over pizza at Crestview's restaurant but, Joe decided that he would begin the greatest comeback in BJG history, bigger than the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Team's victory over the Russians.

After the 14, Joe scored 2 pars and 4 bogeys but he knew that he could not survive another bad hole. 55 wasn’t a bad score at Crestview after getting a 14 on a par 3.
Front Nine Scores:
Cody – 39
Harry – 45
Dave – 51
Joe Willie – 52
Chris – 54
Joe – 55
Nic – 58
Adam - 68
Back Nine:
Cody had 2 pars, 5 bogeys, a double bogey, and a triple bogey on the 16th hole. Has Cody ever had a triple bogey in 2020? Dave fights his way back with 2 pars 3 bogeys and 4 double bogeys.
Harry has 2 pars, 3 bogeys 3 double bogeys, and blows up the 17th hole with an 8. Joe has a par, 5 bogeys, 2 double bogeys, and an 8 on the 12th hole. Can Joe afford an 8?
Adam shaves 15 strokes off his front nine scores but, a front nine 68 is hard to overcome. Chris has two 8’s and a 9 to go with his par, bogey, and 4 double bogeys.
Nic is playing well until he gets to the 15th hole and finishes with a pair of 8s, a 9, and an 11.
Joe Willie is also playing well until he reaches the 15th hole where he finishes with an 8, 9, 14, and 5.
While Harry and Cody made Crestview look easy, the rest of us were pretty humbled by the course. I think Crestview was a good choice for the 2nd Round of the Fed Up Cup.
Back Nine Scores:
Cody – 46
Dave – 47
Harry – 48
Joe – 48
Adam – 53
Chris – 57
Nic – 63
Joe Willie – 64
Final Scores (Actual Score)
1st Place: Harry – 93 (93)
2nd Place: Cody 95 (85)
3rd Place: Joe 103 (103)
4th Place: Dave – 105 (98)
*** CUT LINE ***
5th Place: Adam – 111 (121)
5th Place: Chris – 111 (111)
7th Place: Nic – 114 (121)
8th Place: Joe Willie – 115 (116)
Joe was originally cut after the first round, but a counting error was caught and Joe was actully tied for 8th. Joe decided to stay “cut” so it would not screw up the “Legends of Tomorrow” tournament, but Chris wasn’t having any other that. Chris and Joe decided to play Crestview and the winner would be 8th for the 2nd round of the Fed Up Cup. Just before our 8:30 tee time, Rock texted me that he was out of the Playoffs. This meant that Chris and Joe had a $55.00 practice round. While I know some people think Joe lost to Chris on that practice round 112 to 110, Joe screwed around with his “John Daly” driver swing off the 16th and 17th tee boxes plus when Chris got to the 13th hole, he realized he had played the wrong ball on the 12th hole. Just saying…
It’s not like Joe has been playing bad in 2020. He has a Major (The Misters) and, he finished 3rd in the Race to Big Y (Dubai) - even after missing a week.
When Joe was asked for a comment he said “Some people may call this fate, but I’m going to call it DESTINY… at least for the next couple of weeks. Of course, I want to say “Thank You” to Rock and the rest of the BJG family for thier tremendous support throughout the year”.

This was Nic first time making it to the Fed Up Cup Playoffs and making it to the 2nd round will hopefully inspire him to shoot lower scores next year.
This is Adam's 2nd year in row to earn a spot at the Fed Up Cup. Adam continues to "play better golf" each year.
Chris has had a disappointing season overall and even in the Fed Up Cup playoffs he just could not find any of his past magic.
Joe Willie had a great year but he just could not hold on until the end.
Congratulations to Harry for his first win as a rookie in BJG and congratulations to the top 4 golfers that are going to the Fed Up Cup Finals in Chicopee on September 13th.

Good luck to each of you.
PS - Let me know by Saturday if you are playing at Chicopee on the 13th so I can make the extra tee times.
