Jason has successfully defended his “Victory or Valhalla” trophy with a strong 4-stroke victory over 2nd place as we get closer to the end of the regular season.
It was a beautiful day, and Rolling Meadows County Club was in great condition. It is good to see so much HOPE before that first swing off the first tee box.

Front Nine Scores:
1st: Cody – 34 (39)
2nd: EJ – 36 (54)
3rd: Jason – 37 (46)
4th: Adam – 41 (56)
4th: Dustin – 41 (59)
6th: Alex – 43 (61)
7th: Joe – 44 (55)
7th: Joe T – 44 (56)
Cody starts the front nine 2 under while EJ and Jason try to keep it close. Adam and Dustin are doing ok. Alex starts with a 13 on the first hole but quickly pulls himself together. Joe and Joe T continue with their bad golf game from Veterans and they know they could be in for a very long day.
The easiest hole on the front is the Par 4, 2nd hole and it plays just 1.1 strokes over Par. The hardest holes are the 1st and 4th holes, each playing 2.5 strokes over Par. The 5th and the 7th holes were not much better at 2.4 strokes over Par.
As a group, we shot a 53 on the front.
Back Nine Scores:
1st: Jason – 27 (37)
2nd: Cody – 34 (39)
3rd: Alex – 35 (54)
4th: Adam – 36 (52)
5th: EJ – 43 (61)
5th: Joe – 43 (55)
7th: Joe T – 50 (62)
8th: Dustin – 51 (69)
Jason SMOKES the back, shooting 9 under Par. Jason has found his groove at just the right time.
Cody continues to play well and matches his front-nine score.
Adam and Alex continue to play good golf.
EJ falls off the pace with his tee shots going right, and Joe somehow matches his front nine score even as his putting goes south for the summer.
Joe T has trouble getting off the tee box and losing balls. The last thing Dustin sees at Rolling Meadows is a 12 on the 18th hole.
The easiest hole on the back is the Par 3, 13th hole which played 1.3 over Par. The hardest hole on the back was the Par 4, 15th hole which played 2.5 strokes over Par.
As a group, we shot a 54 on the back for a total score of 107.
Victory or Valhalla Final Scores
1st Place: Jason – 64 (83)
2nd Place: Cody – 68 (78)
3rd Place: Adam – 77 (108)
4th Place: Alex – 78 (114)
5th Place: EJ – 79 (115)
6th Place: Joe – 87 (110)
7th Place: Dustin – 92 (128)
8th Place: Joe T – 94 (118)
DNP – Cam
Victory or Valhalla Points
1st Place: Jason – 10
2nd Place: Cody – 8
3rd Place: Adam – 7
4th Place: Alex – 6
5th Place: EJ – 5
6th Place; Joe – 4
7th Place: Dustin – 3
8th Place: Joe T – 2
DNP – Cam
Closest to the Pin: Jason won $20 on the front and no one hit the green on the back. That mean’s that the Closest to the Pin on the back nine of The Ranch will be worth $80.
Race to Big Y (Dubai)
1st Place: Cody – 159
2nd Place: Adam – 144
3rd Place: Alex – 121
4th Place: Jason – 118
5th Place: EJ – 113
6th Place: Joe – 88
7th Place: Dustin – 79
8th Place: Joe T – 78
9th Place: Cam – 37
Cody continues to increase his lead over Adam, which is now 15 points, but the BJG Championship is worth a total of 225 points… Adam will need to finish 4 places better than Cody for the win with 3 places creating a tie.
Alex is sitting in 3rd place, but Jason is just 3 points back and EJ is just 8 points back from 3rd place. The BJG Championship could see some movement between 3rd, 4th, and 5th place.
Joe is sitting firmly in 6th for the moment but with Dustin and Joe T separated by one point, we could see some movement between 6th, 7th, and 8th place.
Cam still has a chance, but he would have to WIN the BJG Championship, and Dustin or Joe T would have to be No-Shows at the last event of the regular season.
The BJG Championship will be played on Aug 6th at the Ranch Golf Club in Southwick. This is our 4th and final Major as well as the last regular season event. There will be a lot at stake:
1. BJG Championship Trophy and the 45 first-place points
2. The Race to Big Y (Dubai) winner will receive the Big Check and a $50 gift card to Big Y
3. We will find out the seeding for the first round of the Fed Up Cup playoffs
4. We identify the two Captains for the President’s Cup.
Again, congratulations to Jason for his victory.
Respectfully,
Broken Joe
