You would think that after missing the ball twice on the first tee box and then sending his drive left, in front of the whole world, that life could not get any worse. Then you shoot an 80 on the front nine. Who could blame Matt for wanting to step away from that spotlight?
Matt had a great year last year, winning the Chubby Classic and the 2nd Major, the Fathers & Uncles Championship. What a hard fall between 2021 greatness and the initial disappointment of 2022.
Matt took a full 24 hours to weigh his options and then decided that he just wasn’t prepared for the 2022 National Golf League Divisional competition. Matt felt like it was not fair to the rest of the membership to not be able to give it his all.
Matty Ice has had some great moments at BJG, and we truly hope to see him come back for the 2023 golf season.
2021 – Matt won the Chubby Championship

2021 – Matt won Fathers & Uncles Championship

2021 – Matt was a part of Team Cody’s winning the President’s Cup.

2020 – Team Matty Ice wins the Rider Cup

2019 – Matt wins the Match Play Trophy

2019 – Matt was part of Team Dave’s winning the President’s Cup

2017 – Grudge Match Winner, with Dave. (Ronnie Ruger and Daddy 2 Guns)
2016 – Grudge Match Winner with Dave. (Ronnie Ruger and Daddy 2 Guns)
2015 - Grudge Match I Winner with Dave. (Ronnie Ruger and Daddy 2 Guns)

2015 – Matt wins the Winter Classic Championship in a playoff.

Good luck to Matt in 2022.
While we may not see you on the Golf Course, I am sure we will see you betting Fanduel, on the fishing boat with your Step Father and at the family gatherings.
As always, we are here for you if you need anything.

Respectfully,
