On Tuesday, April 23rd, Joe V. looked at the schedule and realized that we play every other week and on the same day as a wedding.

On Sunday, April 28th. JT found out that he could not play in The Misters.  EJ was happy to see more free points, but JT wasn’t.

It surprised me that some of us were unaware that Mill Valley was our first Major. The schedule was released in January, and I even passed copies of the schedule to everyone at the Pretenders.

By the time the blog hits the street, it looks like the weather will be a chilly and rainy day for The Misters. I wonder how many people won't need their points that badly.

On Thursday, James found out that he had to work the weekend.  With three Golfers out, points are going to be sweet this week.

On Sunday morning, Mike called out because his child was sick. Family comes first, and we all hope that he is feeling better.

With the 4th, 5th, and 6th-place Golfers out, this would be the week to play well and climb up the leaderboard.

It is overcast when we get to the golf course, but the rain looks to hold off until around 1 p.m.

Front Nine Scores:

1st:  Joe T – 37 (50)

2nd: Adam – 38 (42)

3rd:  Rob – 39 (48)

4th:  Rey – 41 (52)

4th: Matt – 41 (50)

6th:  Dustin – 44 (62)

6th:  Stephen – 44 (55)

6th:  EJ – 44 (62)

9th:  Joe – 50 (62)

The scores are tight, well, except for Joe.  Joe could not find a club in his bag that he could hit.  I have never seen so many unplayable balls or the crazy places where the balls would come to rest. Joe was thinking about starting a bowling league.

Joe T and Rob were playing bogey golf, and Adam had four pars. Everyone had at least one lousy hole, except for Adam and Rey.

The easiest hole was the Par 4, 6th hole, which played one stroke over par.  The hardest hole on the front was the Par 4, 8th hole, which played THREE strokes over par.  As a group, we shot 42 (54)

Back Nine Scores:

1st:  Rey – 38 (49)

2nd:  Joe – 40 (52)

3rd:  Adam – 42 (45)

4th:  Joe T – 43 (55)

4th:  Matt – 43 (52)

4th:  Stephen – 43 (53)

7Th:  Rob – 45 (54)

8th:   Dustin – 48 (60)

9Th:  EJ – 52 (70)

Again, the scores are close, but EJ is bringing up the rear this time.

Rey shaves off three strokes from his front-nine score.  Joe shoots ten strokes better on the back.  Stephen plays one-stroke better on the back.  Everyone else adds strokes to their back nine scores.

The rain did hold off until the last couple of holes, so that was good.

The easiest hole on the back nine was the Par 3, 16th hole, which played one stroke over par.  The hardest hole on the back was the Par 4, 8th hole, which played FOUR strokes over par.  As a group, we shot 44 (55) for a final score of 86 (109).

The Misters Final Score

1st Place:  Rey – 79 (101)

2nd Place:  Adam – 80 (88)

2nd Place:  Joe T – 80 (105)

4th Place:  Matt – 84 (102)

4th: Place:  Rob – 84 (102)

6th Place:  Stephen – 87 (108)

7th Place:  Joe – 90 (113)

8th Place:  Dustin – 92 (128)

9th Place:  EJ – 96 (132)

Rey, playing in the last group, denies Adam and Joe T a chance for a tie-breaker by winning The Misters by one stroke.

11Th Place:  James – 25 Points

12th Place:  Mike – 23 Points

13th Place:  Joe V – 6 Points

Rey makes a BIG move going from 13th to 4th.  Rob goes from 9th to 5th, and Joe goes from 8th to 6th.

EJ stays at the 7th spot.  Dustin and Stephen go from 10th and 11th to a tie for 8th.

JT, James, and Mike all fall six spots to 10th, 11th, and 12th, respectively. Joe V is at the bottom, with the only way to go is up.

Rob and EJ make some money by winning the Closest to the Pins.

Congratulations to Rey for winning his first Misters green jacket to go along with his three Winter Classic Championships and his Victory at Valhalla.

The next scheduled event is the Woods Shootout, which will be held on May 19th, 2024, at Edgewood Golf Course in Southwick.

Respectfully,
