It was an early chilly morning with the bright sun shining directly in our faces for the start of the BJG Tour Championship. In the sun, it was warm, but in the shadows, it would be cold.

Front Nine Scores: Handicap / Actual
Adam – 40 (55)
Alex – 41 (59)
Cody – 43 (48)
Jason – 44 (53)
Southampton County Club is not an easy golf course, and while scores are close, they are not low like they were in the 2nd round.

As we go to the back nine, the day has become surprisingly warm, and it is a beautiful fall, October day.
We add the other half of the handicaps, and Alex takes the lead by one stroke over Adam after the 10th hole. Cody and Jason will have to play much better golf if they want to make this competitive.
11th Hole:
Adam has his blow-up hole with an 11, and Alex gets some breathing room. Cody starts to close the gap.
Alex – 35
Adam – 39
Jason – 46
Cody – 48
12th, 13th, and 14th Holes:
Alex matches Cody, and Jason scores almost stroke for stroke, giving up just one stroke to Cody over these 3 holes. That cannot be a good sign for Cody and Jason.
Alex – 52
Adam – 58
Jason – 63
Cody – 64
15th Hole:
The pressure starts to get to Alex, and he gets his 10 and lets the group back into the match with just 3 holes left to play. It is starting to get tight…
Alex – 62
Adam – 65
Cody & Jason – 69
16th Hole:
Alex and Jason score 6s, and Adam & Cody score 7s.
Alex – 68
Adam – 72
Jason – 75
Cody – 76
17th Hole:
Alex has another blow-up hole with an 8.
Alex – 76
Adam – 78
Cody & Jason – 80
18th Hole:
Final hole with Adam down by 2, and Jason and Cody are down by 4.
Cody manages to get 2 back, but Alex, Adam & Jason all shoot 7s so there will be no miracle comeback in 2022.
Final Score (Actual)
1st Place: Alex – 83 / 11 over Par (119)
2nd Place: Adam – 85 / 13 over Par (116)
2nd Place: Cody – 85 / 13 over Par (95)
4th Place: Jason – 87 / 15 over Par (105)
Quick Recap:
Alex beats EJ in the Wild Card round.
Alex beats Joe T, Juan, Jake, and Dustin in the 2nd Round
Alex beats Cody, Jason, and Adam in the Finals
That is impressive for a Rookie. Congratulations to Alex for winning it all. Alex is rewarded with the FedUp Cup trophy and $100 cash.

Next on the schedule is the Rider Cup (Team Event) on 10/30/22. Rey and Rock will be picking their teams on Thursday. Please let me know if you ARE NOT playing, no later than Wednesday.

After the Rider Cup, we will have our last event of the 2022 BJG season, The Winter Classic Championship on 11/13/22. That day should be cold enough…

Respectfully,
Broken Joe
Commissioner
